Product Description

The P&H 670-WLC is a robust 70 US ton capacity crawler crane built to handle a wide range of lifting applications in construction, industrial, and infrastructure sectors. Its lattice boom system offers flexibility, with the main boom extendable from a minimum of 40 ft (12.2 m) up to 140 ft (42.7 m) using 10 ft and 20 ft inserts. Additionally, the crane supports a fixed jib attachment of up to 40 ft (12.2 m), which, when combined with the full boom, provides a maximum tip height of 180 ft (54.9 m).

The crane is powered by a Cummins QSB6.7 Tier III diesel engine, rated at approximately 200 hp (149 kW). It drives a hydraulic system configured for multiple simultaneous operations including boom hoist, swing, main and auxiliary winch functions. All winches are mounted with planetary gear reducers and use hydraulic motors for precise load control.

The hoisting system includes two independent winches (main and auxiliary), each capable of a maximum line speed exceeding 400 ft/min, with line pulls suitable for multi-part reeving based on the lift load. The boom hoist mechanism includes a heavy-duty hydraulic cylinder with a load-holding valve, designed for secure lifting and retraction of the boom.

Mobility is ensured through a crawler undercarriage, built with robust track frames and powered by hydraulic motors that enable counter-rotation, forward/reverse travel, and maneuvering in confined areas. The maximum travel speed is approximately 1.1 mph (1.8 km/h), and the crane maintains gradeability of up to 36%, making it suitable for varied terrain.

The operator’s cab is fully enclosed and ergonomically designed for visibility and comfort, featuring load indicators, engine and hydraulic gauges, adjustable seat, and precise joystick controls. Safety features include anti-two block, boom angle indicators, and overload protection.

With a transport-friendly modular design, the P&H 670-WLC can be easily disassembled into manageable sections, aiding in efficient setup and breakdown on job sites. Its reliable construction and straightforward mechanics make it a preferred choice for contractors seeking a durable, medium-capacity crawler crane with proven performance.
