Product Description
The LR 1400/2 is a powerhouse in Liebherr’s crawler crane lineup, delivering up to 400 tonnes of lifting capacity and a maximum load moment of 5,044 tonne-meters. It is specifically engineered for heavy industrial, offshore module lifts, and large infrastructure projects that demand precision, reliability, and strength.
Its crawler undercarriage comprises a central section with two track frames, offering wide configurations for stable lifting and precise maneuverability. Powered by two independent hydraulic drives, the crawler chains are controlled separately for smooth steering and movement. A 43-ton central ballast, consisting of multiple slabs, enhances the crane’s counterbalancing system, providing the necessary stability during complex lifts.
At the heart of the superstructure lies a 6-cylinder Liebherr diesel engine delivering 270 kW (367 hp) and 1,720 Nm of torque. This engine complies with international emissions regulations and powers a four-pump hydraulic system—optimized for smooth, responsive control of multiple crane motions simultaneously.
The LR 1400/2 supports a wide array of boom configurations, including:
- A main boom with a maximum length of 119 meters (standard) or 112 meters (derrick system).
- A lattice-type luffing jib with lengths ranging from 28 to 91 meters.
- A fixed lattice jib option with lengths up to 24.5 meters.
- Floating ballast systems and trailer ballast support up to 260 tonnes with adjustable radii, allowing precise counterweight control during operation.
Safety and operability are paramount, with standard features such as the LICCON load moment indicator, hoist limiters, electronic inclinometer, wind gauges, and hose-rupture safety valves. The crane cab is air-conditioned, tiltable, and ergonomically designed for operator comfort, with wide visibility and intuitive control systems.
Optional accessories include multiple winches, auxiliary hoist gear, mobile pin pulling and hydraulic mounting devices, and quick connection systems for rapid setup and breakdown. The LR 1400/2 can be customized with components like Boomnose 36t adapters and mechanical outriggers to expand its versatility even further.
The LR 1400/2 excels in versatility, power, and safety, making it a top-tier choice for contractors working in large-scale construction, energy, and marine sectors.
