NCK Astra HC-90

The NCK Astra HC-90 is designed as a fully hydraulic 90-ton capacity crawler crane optimized for precision lifting, durability, and ease of transport across European-regulated routes. Its structural integrity is centered around a welded steel turntable structure and box-section crawlers, which are precision machined and equipped with heavy-duty rollers, high-tensile track shoes, and lifetime-lubricated rollers for reduced maintenance.

Powered by a Caterpillar 3306B-DITA, 6-cylinder, water-cooled, turbocharged, direct-injection industrial diesel engine, the HC-90 ensures dependable performance across variable workloads. It features a modular hydraulic system powered by four variable displacement piston pumps, with open-circuit flow for travel and hoisting and a closed circuit for swing operations. This ensures simultaneous operation of multiple functions while offering fine control and energy efficiency.

The main and auxiliary hoist systems use large-diameter drums with machined rope grooves, powered by slow-speed, high-torque radial piston motors. Clutches and brakes are designed for failsafe operation, featuring spring-applied, power-released mechanisms with interchangeable linings. The swing unit is powered by a reversible high-torque piston motor with hydraulic braking and positive mechanical locks for accurate positioning.

Boom configurations use a high-tensile steel tubular lattice design, with a 12-meter base boom that can be extended with 6-meter sections and pin-jointed inserts of 4.5 meters for a total length of up to 54 meters. Fly jib options include a 9-meter basic jib and additional inserts to reach a maximum fly length of 15 meters. The boom suspension is fully pendant-supported, mounted on anti-friction bearings for smooth deployment and retraction.

The operator cab is ergonomically designed and equipped with full visibility, climate control, and conforms to all European emission and safety standards. It is mounted separately from the machinery house for improved comfort and vibration reduction.
