Key Features & Benefits
Launched as the third-generation upgrade in SANY’s 800-ton crawler series, the SCC8000A-3 builds upon its predecessors with increased lifting performance, improved modular transport design, and refined drive systems. This model is purpose-built for the construction of large wind turbines (up to 15 MW), offshore modules, and petrochemical structures that demand both height and load capacity.
The crane boasts a maximum rated lifting capacity of 800 tons at a 9-meter working radius, and its maximum lifting moment reaches 13,440 t·m in superlift configuration—a notable increase over the SCC8000A-2. The main boom system ranges from 24 to 108 meters using lattice boom sections. The luffing jib configuration supports 24 to 96 meters, and the crane can be configured with boom+jib combinations reaching working heights over 168+12 meters in wind power applications.
The superlift system has been upgraded with a 390-ton counterweight and a slewing-type structure, with an adjustable radius between 24 to 30 meters. A key structural improvement is the self-assembly of both the mast and counterweight tray, reducing the need for auxiliary cranes and streamlining onsite deployment.
Powering the upperworks is a Cummins QSK19 engine with an output of 597 kW at 2100 rpm, compliant with China Non-Road Stage III emission standards. The undercarriage features its own power system with a Cummins QSB6.7 engine delivering 194 kW at 2000 rpm. This dual-engine configuration separates the power requirements for superstructure and travel, enhancing fuel efficiency and system reliability during complex operations.
The crawler chassis includes extra-wide 1500 mm track shoes for lower ground pressure and improved stability. The maximum travel speed is 1.0 km/h, and the gradeability is 30%, allowing site maneuverability under heavy boom conditions. The slewing system allows continuous 360° rotation with a slewing speed of 0.8 rpm, while the hoist winches offer rope speeds up to 160 m/min, suitable for high-rise wind turbine component lifts.
One of the most significant enhancements in the SCC8000A-3 is the modularization of its transport components. The heaviest single transport unit is limited to 45 tons, optimized for domestic and international logistics. Quick-connect pin and bolt interfaces expedite on-site assembly and reduce labor and setup time.
The operator’s cab is designed with ergonomic and safety considerations, equipped with full climate control, a multi-angle seat, wide field-of-view windows, and intelligent interface systems. Operational safety is ensured through integrated load moment indicators, anti-overhoist limiters, remote diagnostic systems, and real-time status feedback.
With its robust lifting chart, enhanced assembly efficiency, and high-performance powertrain, the SCC8000A-3 represents SANY’s most advanced offering in the 800-ton crawler crane segment—positioned as a future-proof solution for the world’s most demanding lift projects.
