Product Description

The Sany SCE22000A is one of the most powerful crawler cranes in the global lifting industry, boasting an exceptional lifting capacity of 2,200 tonnes and a maximum lifting moment of 38,000 tonne-metres. Engineered for large-scale infrastructure, petrochemical, and power plant construction projects, the SCE22000A incorporates advanced structural, mechanical, and control technologies to ensure maximum lifting performance with the highest level of safety.

The crane’s main boom is a high-strength welded lattice structure ranging from 54 to 120 metres in length, constructed from high-tensile steel tubes with equal-section inserts and tapered ends. The crane can be configured with a luffing jib extending from 36 to 108 metres, enabling total boom + jib combinations up to 108 + 108 metres. For fixed jib applications, configurations like FJDB_7 and FJhDB allow boom lengths up to 150 metres with an additional 18-metre fixed jib, supporting specialized heavy-lift needs.

Driving the crane are two 6-cylinder, water-cooled, turbocharged Benz OM471 engines, each producing 390 kW of power and 2,600 Nm of torque at 1,300 rpm, supported by a 2,000-litre diesel tank. This setup ensures sufficient power delivery even during peak lifting operations. The crane can travel with 100% of its rated load, aided by a robust four-crawler travel system and two-stage variable-speed drives with a maximum travel speed of 0.76 km/h.

The hydraulic system uses a closed-circuit design for the hoisting, swinging, and luffing systems. It includes energy-saving, low-radiation components with electric proportional controls, built-in safety measures like pressure and filter clogging alarms, and explosion-relief valves. The hoisting winches—main, auxiliary, boom, jib, and superlift—feature stepless speed control, capable of reaching speeds up to 121 m/min, and all use 40 mm diameter wire rope.

In terms of structure, the crane is built around a modular transportable design, including components such as the rotating bed, carbody, transverse beams, and crawler frames, all connected by hydraulic power pins to allow for faster and more efficient assembly. The superlift mast, at 50 metres long, enhances lifting performance, supported by a total of 1,589 tonnes of counterweight (including 1160t for superlift, 340t for rear, and 89t for carbody).

Operator comfort and safety are ensured by a fully enclosed ergonomic cab with panoramic visibility, low internal noise (<85 dB), and an integrated LML system (Load Moment Limiter), wind speed monitoring, over-hoist and over-release protection, and emergency systems. The control system includes wireless remote operation for key assembly tasks, and all critical systems are monitored by a remote diagnostic and fault-reporting platform.

The SCE22000A’s standout features include:

  • Modular design for transport and assembly
  • Smart hydraulic systems with pressure relief and clog detection
  • CAN-bus based electrical system with advanced diagnostics
  • High rope speeds and precision hoisting with inching control
  • Advanced swing system offering smooth 360° operation
  • Black box data recorder for operational analysis

Expandable configurations, including potential combination of two units to act as a 4,000-ton crawler crane.

Altogether, the Sany SCE22000A represents the pinnacle of modern crawler crane engineering, setting benchmarks in lifting capacity, adaptability, and system intelligence for ultra-heavy-duty lifting operations.
