Product Description
The Link-Belt HTC-814XL is a compact and highly maneuverable 14-ton (12.70 metric ton) capacity hydraulic truck crane, purpose-built for smaller job sites and tasks requiring agility and efficiency. Its boom system consists of a three-section hydraulic boom extending from 32 ft to 80 ft (9.75 m to 24.38 m), supporting flexible working radii and a wide range of lifting operations.
The crane’s lifting performance is supported by full hydraulic operation, delivering smooth control over hoisting, telescoping, and swing functions. Its boom head accommodates up to ten parts of 5/8 in (16 mm) wire rope, and optional jibs extend reach further: a 29 ft (8.84 m) fixed jib, or fly assemblies with a 21 ft (6.40 m) jib that can be offset at 5°, 17.5°, or 30° angles. The jib enables lifting up to 5,500 lbs (2,494 kg) depending on configuration and boom angle.
On outriggers, the crane demonstrates solid lifting performance across a variety of boom lengths and radii. For instance, with the boom extended to 80 ft, it can lift up to 5,400 lbs (2,449 kg) at a 30 ft (9.14 m) radius. When fitted with jib extensions and fully extended outriggers, it reaches heights of 109 ft (33.22 m) and can perform tasks up to a 95 ft (28.95 m) radius.
The hydraulic system powers both main and auxiliary winches using 10-inch (0.27 m) or 15-inch (0.38 m) diameter drums. Line speeds reach up to 207 ft/min (63.09 m/min) with permissible line pulls up to 4,960 lbs (2,250 kg) on a 10 in drum and 9,920 lbs (4,500 kg) on a 15 in drum. Six layers of rope can be accommodated on either drum type, with a total rope capacity of 173.13 meters (568 ft) on the larger drum. Hydraulic circuit pressures are calibrated for reliable performance: 2,900 psi (200 bar) for boom hoist and telescoping, and 1,500 psi (103.45 bar) for swing and winch brakes.
The crane is mounted on a narrow 8 ft (2.44 m) wide carrier, providing excellent transportability, especially for urban or restricted sites. On tires, the HTC-814XL can lift up to 21,600 lbs (9,797 kg) over the rear at a 10 ft (3.05 m) radius and 1 mph (1.61 km/h) travel speed. The crane operates with 10.00 x 20 or 16.5 x 22.5 tires, inflated to 55–90 psi (3.79–6.21 bar) depending on rating.
Controls for the crane include a comprehensive hydraulic system for all major functions and clear operator feedback through in-cab instrumentation. The HTC-814XL stands out for its precise control, reliable performance in its weight class, and modular lifting capability through optional jibs and fly assemblies—making it ideal for contractors who require a nimble, cost-efficient crane with consistent load-handling power.
