Product Description
The Link-Belt HTC-850 is a mid-capacity truck crane offering a 50-ton lifting capacity and a practical design suited for urban job sites and general construction work. It features a three-section boom with lengths ranging from 35 to 85 feet (10.67 m to 25.91 m), with a diamond-shaped, high-strength steel structure and wear shoes providing vertical and horizontal boom support. The boom is raised by a double-acting hydraulic cylinder with integral holding valves, allowing for boom angles between -3° to 78°.
An optional boom configuration extends the capacity to 110 feet (33.53 m) with a four-section design, including a manually pinned fourth section. The boom tip can be outfitted with an optional auxiliary lifting sheave and a 25-foot (7.62 m) swing-away lattice jib, adjustable to 15°, 17.5°, or 30° offsets for enhanced reach.
Swing operations are powered by a bi-directional hydraulic swing motor with a two-stage planetary reducer, allowing smooth 360° continuous rotation at 2.45 rpm. The hydraulic system is driven by a three-section gear-type pump, offering a combined pump capacity of 185 gpm (700 lpm) at a pressure of up to 2,900 psi (203 kg/cm²), with a 145-gallon (548.83 L) reservoir.
The hoist system includes the Model 2M main winch with a two-speed motor and automatic brake, and optional auxiliary winches (Models 2M or 3M), each capable of bi-directional, gear-type hydraulic operation. Line pull reaches 15,870 lbs (7,199 kg), and line speeds are up to 548 ft/min (167 m/min) on 17-inch diameter drums.
The environmental cab is mounted to reduce vibration and sound and features wide safety glass, adjustable seating, and intuitive controls for all crane functions. The dashboard is equipped with gauges for hydraulic temperature, oil pressure, and fuel.
The upper counterweight system consists of a 9,000 lb (4,082 kg) counterweight with single-winch and an optional 8,050 lb (3,651 kg) removable counterweight for flexible transport or setup. The standard 1,000 lb (454 kg) bumper weight ensures front axle stability.
The carrier is built on a heavy-duty all-welded steel box frame and rides on tandem axles with an 8×4 drive layout. It uses a Fuller Roadranger RTO-6613 transmission with 13 forward and 3 reverse gears. Steering is managed by Sheppard’s rack-and-pinion system with a 55′ 7″ (16.94 m) turning radius. Braking is air-operated, with full system redundancy and emergency override for safety.
Additional options include block heaters, ether injection, engine monitoring systems, and accessories for cold-weather or specialty operations. The Link-Belt HTC-850 is a field-proven truck crane offering efficient mobility, rugged construction, and user-friendly controls for reliable performance on diverse worksites.
