Zoomlion QY220V

The Zoomlion QY220V is a heavy-duty 220-ton truck-mounted hydraulic crane designed for high-capacity lifting and extended reach. The crane’s five-section telescopic boom is fabricated using high-tensile WELDOX1100 steel, known for its superior tensile rigidity and exceptional load-bearing capacity. The boom achieves a maximum length of 67 meters and delivers a maximum lifting height of 67.5 meters when fully extended.

For projects requiring even greater height, the QY220V can be fitted with an optional jib that extends up to 36 meters. When combined with the main boom, it allows a maximum lifting height of 95.8 meters (or 104 meters with additional jib extension). This enables the crane to efficiently tackle complex lifting operations such as wind turbine installation and large industrial equipment handling.

The crane is fitted with underslung, self-handled moveable counterweight plates with a total mass of 75 tonnes. These counterweights can be configured into six different combinations (0 t, 13 t, 28 t, 43 t, 60 t, and 75 t), offering versatile lifting capabilities for a wide range of applications. The H-type outriggers are made of high-strength steel and are either fully or partially extendable to suit different jobsite requirements.

The QY220V rides on a special-purpose six-axle chassis powered by a Benz OM502LA diesel engine that outputs 390 kW at 1800 rpm, with a peak torque of 2400 N·m at 1080 rpm. It uses a ZF-12AS2302 automated transmission and Kessler drive axles for superior drivetrain performance. The crane can achieve a gradeability of up to 40%, making it suitable for off-road and slope work.

Axles 1, 2, 3, and 6 are steered while axles 3, 5, and 6 are driven, providing both maneuverability and traction. It supports both mechanical and hydraulic steering modes, and each steering circuit is independently powered by twin pumps. The chassis employs leaf spring suspension with a balance beam for smooth ride comfort.

Zoomlion’s new-generation boom telescoping technology ensures efficient and safe operation. This system includes a PLC-controlled one-touch automatic boom extension and retraction with a multi-stage interlocking design. It also includes emergency bypass functionality in case of failure. The telescopic boom extension can be achieved safely and quickly—even under load—due to the synchronized hydraulic cylinder system.

The QY220V is also equipped with a highly stable hydraulic system that incorporates load-sensing technology, LINDE pumps and motors, and a leak-free BUCHER balance valve. The boom lowers under gravity with micro-positioning capability, ensuring smooth energy-efficient movements.
