Product Description
The Franna MAC 25-3 is an evolution of Franna’s iconic MAC 25 line, engineered to deliver exceptional performance in urban and industrial lifting scenarios. It boasts a maximum lifting capacity of 25 tonnes at a 1.41-meter radius, while still maintaining remarkable versatility with its reach of 1.8 tonnes at a 15.71-meter radius. The main boom comprises four sections, with a total maximum length of 18.42 meters and a maximum hook height of 18 meters. When paired with a fly jib, it can achieve a hook height of up to 22 meters, extending its operational envelope.
This crane is powered by a Mercedes OM906LA, a 6-cylinder turbocharged and intercooled diesel engine, producing 205 kW at 2200 rpm and 1100 Nm of torque at 1800 rpm. It’s compliant with Euro 3 emission standards and is mated to an Allison MD 3000 6-speed automatic transmission. It features selectable high/low ranges via the Steyr VG750 transfer case, and 2WD/4WD capability with disconnect on the rear axle, offering flexibility in various terrain conditions.
Built for safety and comfort, the MAC 25-3 includes a spacious, insulated cabin with twin KAB suspension seats, air conditioning, heating, and a full-color LCD display with load indicators and operational warnings. The crane includes a 3B6 rated capacity indicator, motion cut-outs, and engine diagnostics for enhanced operator safety.
Its drive axles, supplied by Kessler, are planetary with reinforced front components for pick-and-carry duties. The vehicle uses air-operated high-capacity wedge brakes on all axles, a spring-applied park brake system, and an engine exhaust brake for safe maneuvering. The turning radius is just 7.9 meters, which supports its ability to work in confined spaces.
In terms of articulation, the crane allows 40° movement either side of center for an 80° slewing arc, allowing tight-space navigation without needing slewing gears. The MAC 25-3 features a two-speed hydraulic winch capable of delivering a line pull of 4.2 tonnes, with speeds of 41 and 82 meters per minute, and optional two-, four-, or six-part hook blocks to suit various lifting configurations.
The hydraulic system includes a load-sensing axial piston pump capable of 150 l/min at 250 bar, with a 380-liter oil tank. Suspension is provided by semi-elliptic leaf springs on both axles, and the front axle includes hydraulic lockouts to improve stability during lifts. The total vehicle weight is 23,900 kg, with axle loading adjustable via front and rear removable counterweights depending on the lifting application.
Overall, the Franna MAC 25-3 stands out as a reliable, powerful pick-and-carry crane, ideally suited for lift-and-shift operations in complex environments requiring both strength and maneuverability.
