Grove RT770E

The Grove RT770E is a high-performance 65-ton rough terrain crane engineered for demanding lifting operations. Its primary feature is the five-section MEGAFORM™ boom, which extends from 34.5 ft to 138 ft (10.6 m to 42 m). This full-power telescopic boom provides excellent reach and lifting capacity, and is constructed from high-strength steel with the MEGAFORM™ design, which reduces boom deflection under load. For extended reach, the RT770E offers an optional 33.5 ft to 56.1 ft (10.1 m to 17.1 m) bi-fold swingaway jib, bringing the maximum tip height to 220.7 ft (67.3 m) with the additional jib inserts. The RT770E shares a common design platform with the RT765E-2 model, while providing higher nominal capacity and additional reach thanks to the 42 m (138 ft) five-section, full power MEGAFORM™ boom.

The crane is powered by a Cummins QSB 6.7L Tier 4 Final engine, delivering 260 hp (194 kW) at 2,500 rpm and 730 lb-ft (990 Nm) of torque at 1,500 rpm, ensuring robust performance for both crane operations and travel. The RT770E’s hydraulic system operates through seven main pumps, providing smooth and precise control of all crane functions, including boom extension, swing, and hoisting operations.

The RT770E’s main hoist features a grooved drum with a line pull of 15,709 lbs (7,125 kg) and a maximum line speed of 492 ft/min (150 m/min), ensuring efficient lifting operations. The crane’s auxiliary hoist offers similar capabilities for dual-lift configurations. The crane’s hydraulic system has a total oil capacity of 105 gallons (400 liters), providing consistent power to all operational functions.

The crane is equipped with Grove’s advanced Crane Control System (CCS), offering user-friendly touchscreen interfaces and diagnostics to monitor load capacity, boom position, and operating conditions in real time. Additionally, the crane has four hydraulic outriggers with inverted jacks to protect against sand and dust, extending to a maximum width of 24 ft 2 in (7.37 m) for stability during lifts.

Operator comfort is enhanced by a full-vision, all-steel cab with acoustical lining, tinted safety glass, and ergonomically placed controls. The crane also features multiple steering modes, including front-wheel, four-wheel, and crab steering, allowing excellent maneuverability on job sites.
