Product Description
The HDTC40 telescopic crawler crane by Hunan Holdings Heavy Industry is a robust 40-ton capacity crane designed for operation in challenging environments where low ground pressure and high mobility are essential. It is especially effective in locations inaccessible to conventional wheeled cranes—such as wetlands, sandy soils, and rugged construction sites.
The crane offers a maximum rated lifting moment of 1,560 kN·m at the base boom and 858 kN·m at maximum boom extension. The telescopic main boom extends from 10.25 meters to 32.0 meters in its standard four-section configuration, while an extended variant reaches 10.8 to 40.0 meters. A 7.3 to 11.4 meter auxiliary jib is also available, boosting maximum hook height to 51 meters.
It supports a boom elevation range of -1° to +80° and offers continuous 360° slewing. The working radius starts from as close as 3 meters, allowing for tight lift setups. High-performance winches provide hoisting speeds of up to 130 m/min (main winch) and 100 m/min (auxiliary winch). Boom extension and retraction take about 100 seconds, while raising and lowering the boom takes 40 seconds each. Slewing operates smoothly up to 1.8 rpm.
The crane is powered by a Cummins QSB6.7-C215 turbocharged diesel engine rated at 158 kW at 2000 rpm, with peak torque of 963 Nm at 1300 rpm. This is mated to a hydrostatic transmission with JX80-185 final drives and A6VE107 motors, providing a maximum travel speed of 2.5 km/h and slope climbing capacity up to 25% (14°).
Dimensionally, the HDTC40 measures 12.93 meters long, 4.46 meters wide (working) and 3.2 meters wide (transport), with an overall height of 2.9 meters. It features 760 mm wide crawler shoes for reduced ground pressure (0.063 MPa), and a minimum ground clearance of 389 mm. The total machine weight is 46,900 kg, with 11,000 kg of counterweights included.
The hydraulic system operates at a working pressure of 25 MPa, with a system flow of 400 L/min, and a 630-liter hydraulic reservoir to ensure consistent operation during demanding tasks.
The crane’s cab accommodates one operator and is designed for full operational visibility and comfort, supporting long working hours in remote environments. Safety measures include lift moment limiting, wind operation restrictions, and compliance with grounding pressure standards for jobsite stability.
In conclusion, the HDTC40 offers strong performance in adverse terrains and versatile lifting configurations, making it suitable for applications in petroleum, construction, mining, chemical industries, and general lifting and installation tasks. Its compact transport profile and strong lifting chart provide excellent utility across diverse job sites.
