Demag AC 50-1

The Demag AC 50-1 is a versatile all terrain crane, built to deliver reliable lifting performance in a highly compact footprint. With a lifting capacity of 60 tons (50 metric tons), it is engineered to meet the demands of confined urban job sites and general construction while offering road mobility and rapid setup.

The crane features a four-section main boom with a hydraulic telescoping range from 10.3 meters to 40.2 meters. An additional 17-meter swing-away jib extends its total lifting height to 58 meters, allowing for greater reach and flexibility when working on taller structures or challenging lifting angles. The boom is constructed with high-strength steel and a polygonal cross-section for optimal load distribution.

Mounted on a three-axle all-terrain chassis, the AC 50-1 provides all-wheel drive and all-wheel steering, supporting excellent maneuverability on tight or uneven job sites. The crane achieves a maximum travel speed of 80 km/h, enabling quick relocation between jobs. The overall width of just 2.55 meters enhances its ability to navigate narrow roads and city environments.

The crane is powered by a DaimlerChrysler OM 501 LA diesel engine, delivering 260 kW (354 hp) and compliant with Euro emission standards. It is coupled with a ZF-AS-Tronic 12-speed automated transmission, providing smooth gear shifts and reduced operator fatigue on long hauls or during frequent repositioning.

For lifting operations, the hydraulic system is supported by a variable displacement axial piston pump, ensuring smooth and efficient actuation of the boom, winches, and slewing gear. The crane includes a standard hoist line pull of 60.5 kN (13,600 lbs) and hoisting speeds up to 120 m/min, with single and multi-part line configurations.

Operator safety and convenience are addressed through a tiltable, air-conditioned cab equipped with electronic LMI (Load Moment Indicator), anti-two-block system, and visual/audio overload alerts. Outriggers offer four-position configurations with automatic leveling for stable lifting on uneven surfaces.
