Demag AC70 City
The AC70 was being manufactured by Terex-Demag in 2004 to replace the 60-tonne capacity Terex-Demag AC60 which offers an increased lifting capacity by additional mountable counterweight plates, which was also used on Terex-Demag AC55. The 70-tonne mobile crane is equipped with a 52 metres main boom, computer controlled electro-hydraulic rear-axle steering, just like the other two smaller capacity class city cranes in its range. It also features a two-person cab at the same time. Terex-Demag AC55 was debut along with the AC70 during BAUMA Munich 2004.

Product Description
The Demag AC 70 City is a compact and high-performing 70-tonne all-terrain crane developed by Terex-Demag in 2004 as a successor to the AC 60. One of its standout features is the 52-metre long main boom, which offers exceptional reach for its class. This eight-section telescopic boom is fabricated from high-strength fine-grain structural steel and includes an optional offsetable jib extension with angles of 0°, 20°, 35°, and 50°, and lengths up to 14.0 m. With additional system inserts, the total boom system length can reach 71.4 m.
The crane is powered by a DaimlerChrysler OM 457 LA six-cylinder diesel engine, producing 295 kW (400 hp) at 1,850 rpm with a torque of 1,200 Nm. It uses an electronically automated 16-speed ZF gearshift system (G 210-16) for smooth and efficient transmission. The drive configuration is 8×4×8 with optional 8×8×8, featuring hydropneumatic suspension and 18 wheels fitted with 14.00 R25 tyres for robust off-road and on-road travel, achieving a top speed of 80 km/h.
Steering is managed through ZF dual-circuit hydraulics with mechanical and emergency systems, and includes computer-controlled electro-hydraulic rear-axle steering for optimal maneuverability in confined urban environments. The crane’s hydraulic system uses variable-displacement pumps to support four simultaneous working movements and a dedicated pump for slewing, ensuring precise control during operation.
The operator cab is spacious and ergonomically designed, with air suspension seats, full instrumentation, and air conditioning as standard. Safety systems include an electronic safe load indicator with a graphic display, limit switches, pressure-relief valves, and load sensors.
Additional optional equipment includes a heavy-lift runner, secondary hoist, reversing camera, extra counterweight (5.9 t), and a searcher hook. The AC 70 City’s compact build, advanced safety systems, and strong lifting performance make it an ideal solution for urban projects and job sites with space constraints.
