Product Description
The Kato KA-4000R is a flagship 400-ton capacity all-terrain crane designed for high-performance lifting in demanding environments. Mounted on the Kato KA6400 carrier, the crane is powered by a Mercedes-Benz OM502LA 8-cylinder diesel engine, compliant with EURO 3 emissions standards, delivering 390 kW at 1,800 rpm and a massive torque of 2,400 Nm. The carrier features a 12×8 drive configuration, full hydro-pneumatic suspension, and reaches speeds of up to 75 km/h, ensuring both robust mobility and roadworthiness.
The upper structure is powered by a Mitsubishi 6M60-TLE3A diesel engine, rated at 200 kW, and controls three main winches with a maximum hoisting speed of 144 m/min, supported by a state-of-the-art hydraulic system. The crane features a five-section telescopic boom ranging from 13.6 meters to 50.0 meters, extendable up to 120.2 meters using various jib configurations, including the Super Luffing Boom (SL), Extension Jib (EX), and Heavy Lift Jib (HL). These configurations enable diverse lifting options across a broad working radius—up to 85 meters in HL mode and 93.7 meters with the EX jib.
Lifting capabilities include 400 tons at 2.5 meters radius using the heavy-lift configuration and 100 tons at 8.0 meters with the full boom extension. The boom’s hydraulic cylinder system provides efficient telescoping and luffing, while the super luffing boom offers adjustable offset angles between 0° to 60°. Outriggers feature a hydraulic vertical support system with up to 9.2 meters of full extension for maximum stability.
The KA-4000R includes a fully enclosed air-conditioned cab with voice warning systems, load monitoring via the ACS (Automatic Crane System), over-wind protection, swing brake systems, and comprehensive safety features. Designed for heavy-duty lifting, the crane excels in infrastructure, power plant, and heavy industrial applications where power, reach, and flexibility are critical.
