Product Description

The Kobelco 7650 crawler crane represents one of the largest lifting capacities in Kobelco’s product lineup, with a maximum lifting capacity of 650 tonnes at a 6.0-meter radius in heavy-duty configuration, and 400 tonnes x 10.0 meters in standard configuration. The crane can be equipped with a 24-meter base boom, and in its maximum configuration can reach 60 meters boom length for standard duty and up to 102 meters in total with luffing jib. The luffing jib itself can reach 72 meters, with a maximum lifting moment of 230 tonnes x 16.0 meters.

The crane is powered by a Cummins KTA-19-C600 water-cooled, 4-cycle, direct-injection diesel engine rated at 441 kW (600 PS) at 2,000 rpm. It features a large 900-liter fuel tank for extended operating time. The hydraulic system is robust, comprising four 2-speed variable displacement pumps for the winch, boom, jib and travel operations, and additional gear and plunger pumps dedicated to boom hoisting, slewing, and jib control.

Operational performance is enhanced by a high-speed winch system with a rope speed of up to 100 m/min for both hoisting and lowering. The boom and jib hoisting speeds are equally impressive at 50 m/min (high) and 22 m/min (low). This level of performance ensures efficient lifting cycles, particularly beneficial for high-rise structures and deep foundation work.

Transport and assembly have been a key focus in the 7650’s design. The base machine can be disassembled for a 35-ton trailer transport limit, and the crane includes numerous quick-assembly features such as disconnectable boom foot pins and undercarriage separation systems. This makes the crane particularly suitable for job sites with space limitations or transport restrictions.

In terms of safety and control, the 7650 includes modern color display multi-monitoring systems that offer real-time operation data, maintenance feedback, and intuitive load moment control. Overload prevention functions and auxiliary camera options are available for improved operator awareness.

The operator’s cab is ergonomically designed for comfort and safety, offering air conditioning, AM/FM radio, digital clock, and a visibility-enhancing windshield wiper and washer. Control is managed via electric lever and grip-type throttle with speed adjustment, ensuring precision during delicate lifting operations.

This machine also stands out with its efficient self-assembly technique, allowing full erection within minimal time, thanks to hydraulic assistance and reduced need for additional support equipment. The average ground pressure in crawler configuration is 125 kPa (1.28 kgf/cm²), aiding in soft ground applications.

Overall, the Kobelco 7650 crawler crane offers an impressive blend of lifting performance, transportability, safety, and ease of operation for ultra-heavy-duty lifting applications such as power plant construction, petrochemical projects, and infrastructure development.
