Product Description
The Kobelco SL4500J-350 is a powerful 350-ton crawler crane designed for heavy-duty lifting operations in a wide range of industrial and construction settings. With a maximum rated lifting capacity of 350 metric tons at a 6.0-meter radius, the SL4500J is equipped with advanced lifting systems and boom structures to ensure efficient, stable performance under demanding loads.
The SL4500J offers a highly adaptable boom system. The main boom (referred to as the luffing upper boom) can be configured from 24 meters up to 72 meters, allowing operators to tailor the crane’s reach and capacity to specific project needs. Additionally, it features a long boom option extending up to 96 meters for higher elevation lifting tasks. For complex job sites requiring flexible movement and placement of loads at great heights, the SL4500J supports a luffing jib configuration of up to 60 meters combined with a 60-meter main boom, offering a total reach of 120 meters.
The crane’s robust hydraulic and winch systems allow for smooth and precise load handling. It employs heavy-duty wire ropes with high line pull capacities—each winch is fitted with 28 mm IWRC ropes, enabling stable operation with various reeving configurations up to 14 parts of line. Slewing and hoisting speeds are optimized for different lifting scenarios, with boom and jib winches integrated into the boom system to reduce base weight and simplify transportation.
The SL4500J is powered by a Hino E13C-UV diesel engine, producing 320 kW at 2,000 rpm. This engine complies with modern emission standards and supports the crane’s hydraulic systems through multiple variable displacement pumps, ensuring responsive control and operational efficiency.
Transportation and on-site assembly have also been considered. The crane can be broken down into manageable components, with the heaviest piece being the upperstructure and car body at 141,000 lbs, which can be further separated for ease of transport. Boom and jib sections can be nested, and key components like the mast assembly feature quick-connect systems, reducing setup time to just a few days depending on the configuration.
Engineered for stability, the SL4500J maintains a large 10,820 mm track gauge, giving it a solid footprint that supports safe operation across 360-degree slewing. Designed with Kobelco’s emphasis on durability, efficiency, and transportability, the SL4500J-350 remains a favored choice for large-scale lifting projects requiring performance, reach, and adaptability.
