Product Description
The SL6000J-500 represents Kobelco’s top-tier crawler crane technology, built for heavy lifting in demanding industrial, energy, and infrastructure sectors. Rated at a maximum capacity of 500 tons at a 6.2-meter radius, this crawler crane is optimized for both powerful lifting and ease of transport and assembly.
In standard configuration, the crane is fitted with a main boom up to 108 meters, and in its HL (Heavy Lift) configuration, it achieves the same boom length but with a maximum rated lifting capacity of 367.5 tons at 8.3 meters. The luffing jib setup extends reach with a 66-meter boom plus a 72-meter jib, totaling 138 meters of lifting height, with a luffing range between 66° and 86°.
The crane is powered by a Hino E13C diesel engine, outputting 320 kW at 2,000 rpm, providing ample power to operate its sophisticated hydraulic systems. The crane employs multiple winches with a standard line pull of 137 kN (14 tf) and a maximum hoisting speed of 110 m/min, ensuring smooth, high-speed lifting operations even under heavy loads. The wire rope diameter is 28 mm, with drums capable of housing up to 1,080 meters.
To maximize structural performance, the crane features newly designed components such as a high-rigidity swing frame, reinforced crawler frames, and large-diameter lattice booms with high cross-sectional strength. The crawler undercarriage uses a dual-motor system (front and rear) for enhanced tractive force and stability on rough terrain, with a max travel speed of 1.0 km/h and a gradeability of 20%.
Kobelco’s engineering also prioritizes transportation and assembly. The SL6000J-500 has a modular boom design with a transport width of just 3.0 meters and stackable, thin-type counterweights for efficient logistics. The mast-mounted boom hoist winch and boom-integrated lifting winches allow most major components to be transported fully assembled, reducing labor and setup time.
Its cab is fully upgraded with improved visibility (including wider upward and lateral view angles), a tilting function (0–15°), a large multi-language color display for load moment and diagnostics, and a host of operator comforts such as air conditioning, sunshades, and ergonomic seating. Multiple operation modes are available, including free or braked swing with low-speed swing control, ideal for precision tasks.
Safety features include Kobelco’s dual over-hoisting prevention systems, automated boom assembly/disassembly modes, camera systems for boom and drum monitoring, and load moment limiters with multilingual alerts.
Overall, the SL6000J-500 is a next-generation crawler crane blending exceptional lifting strength, ease of transport, and smart operational features, capable of handling high-rise construction, wind turbine assembly, and heavy industrial installation with remarkable reliability and efficiency.
