Product Description
The Franna 4WD-16 is a robust and versatile all-terrain pick-and-carry crane, representing the largest lifting capacity in the Franna range of 4WD mobile cranes manufactured in Australia. With a rated capacity of 16 tonnes at 1.2 m radius and a maximum hook height of 16.5 metres, it is designed to handle heavy loads while maintaining exceptional manoeuvrability. The crane is equipped with a Hino 202 hp, 6-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine paired with a Clark 8-speed power shift transmission, delivering both performance and reliability across rough terrains. Its drivetrain consists of front and rear heavy-duty drive axles with a driver-engaged air differential lock, complemented by Hardy Spicer drive shafts.
The cabin is ergonomically designed for operator comfort, offering 25% more room compared to earlier models. It features a binnacle-style dashboard, hydraulic controls, a digital load indicator, and a full set of modern conveniences including ROPS-certified insulation, large tinted windows, and rear visibility enhancements. The 3.25-tonne line pull hydraulic winch is fully compensated and compatible with both 3/2 part fall blocks and single-line operation, ensuring lifting flexibility. The structure boasts heavy-duty design elements like a 40 mm thick front steel plate, recessed lighting, and robust mudguards.
With a turning circle of 7.4 metres and an overall length of 9.68 metres, the Franna 16 is compact yet powerful. Optional features such as a fly jib, man basket, spreader bars, and a Rhino hook further increase its versatility. The suspension system features semi-elliptic springs and torsion bars for improved stability, and the unit achieves a top speed of 85 km/h with a 50% gradability rating, making it ideal for both urban and rugged job sites. With its powerful lifting capacity and thoughtfully integrated design, the Franna 16 is suited for operators demanding agility, strength, and comfort in a mobile crane.
