Franna MAC 25-4

The Franna MAC 25-4 is a mobile articulated pick and carry crane designed for demanding lifting operations requiring flexibility, power, and roadability. With a rated lifting capacity of 25 tonnes at a 1.4-meter radius and up to 1.8 tonnes at a 15.7-meter radius, the MAC 25-4 offers strong performance across the load chart, supported by a 6-part hook block for high-capacity lifts. The main boom reaches a maximum length of 18.4 meters and supports a hook height of 18 meters, which extends to 20.5 meters with the optional fly jib.

Powered by a Mercedes OM 906 engine delivering 205 kW and 1100 Nm of torque, this crane combines reliable diesel performance with an Allison 6-speed automatic transmission. It includes a ZF 2:1 transfer case, enabling effective torque distribution. The fuel capacity of 440 liters supports extended duty cycles, while the 80 km/h top speed and 45% gradeability offer smooth on-road and off-road operation.

Articulation of 40° left and right, paired with a tight 7.9-meter turning circle, allows for excellent maneuverability on congested sites. The boom design includes a unique head configuration for improved clearance, and boom elevation ranges from -10° to +65°.

The hydraulic system uses a 62cc/rev axial piston pump delivering 130 liters per minute at 250 bar, ensuring efficient operation of the winch and boom. A 380-liter hydraulic reservoir supports this closed-loop system. The winch offers two-speed functionality, with line speeds of 38 and 76 meters per minute, and a rated single line pull of 4.2 tonnes.

Suspension includes elliptic springs with hydraulic lockouts on the front axle, and braking is managed via air-operated drum brakes. The crane’s total weight of 23,900 kg is evenly distributed between its front (11,900 kg) and rear (12,000 kg) axles, maximizing stability in pick-and-carry scenarios.

An optional Superlift (SL) counterweight kit enhances the rear counterweight system, significantly increasing the rated lifting capacity by up to 30%, especially useful for lifts at larger radii or higher boom angles.
