Kato CR-250
The Kato CR-250 is a compact 25-ton Cityrange rough terrain crane featuring a six-section telescoping boom and advanced 4-wheel steering for optimal maneuverability. It’s designed for tight job sites requiring precision and mobility without sacrificing lifting performance.

Product Description
The Kato CR-250 is engineered for urban and tight-access construction environments, where mobility and precision are paramount. With a maximum rated lifting capacity of 25 metric tons at a 2.8-meter radius, the CR-250 is equipped with a six-section telescopic boom that extends from 6.7 meters to 28.0 meters. An optional two-section fly jib can add a further 8.2 meters of reach, supporting diverse lifting configurations.
The boom’s operational range includes a derricking angle from -10.5° to 81°, supported by double-acting hydraulic cylinders that deliver both flexibility and power. The extension from minimum to full boom length takes approximately 68 seconds, with the boom raising from -10.5° to 81° in around 33 seconds. The hoisting system includes a main winch with a lifting speed of 104 m/min and an auxiliary winch speed of 93 m/min, both operating at the second rope layer. These are powered by axial plunger-type motors with gear reduction and automatic brakes.
The hydraulic system features four pumps, supporting the plunger-type winch and slewing motors, and is governed by double-acting control valves with integral safety components. A 440-liter hydraulic oil reservoir ensures consistent fluid performance.
Built on a 4×2 / 4×4 drive carrier system, the CR-250 uses a Mitsubishi 6D16-TI diesel engine (turbocharged, water-cooled, 4-cycle) producing 158 kW at 2,800 rpm and 696 Nm of torque at 1,600 rpm. The crane offers five steering modes: front, rear, 4-wheel coordinated, crab, and independent. This setup allows a minimum turning radius of just 5.0 meters in 4-wheel steer mode and 8.3 meters in 2-wheel steer mode.
The air-over-hydraulic braking system ensures safe stopping power across all four wheels, complemented by air-released parking brakes and an exhaust brake for extra control. The 300-liter fuel tank supports long working hours without interruption.
Safety is enhanced by Kato’s ACS (Automatic Crane Stopper), voice alarm, winch and drum lock devices, overhoist prevention, irregular winding prevention, and hydraulic safety valves. The CR-250’s compact 9,065 mm length, 2,395 mm width, and 3,400 mm height make it highly suitable for urban or indoor lifting, with an overall gross vehicle weight of approximately 24,000 kg.
In short, the Kato CR-250 combines lifting performance, mobility, and safety in a compact, city-capable package, well-suited for confined construction and industrial job sites.
