Product Description

The Kato KRM-13H rough terrain crane is a versatile 13-ton class model designed to provide solid lifting performance with mobility and maneuverability in confined or uneven environments. Featuring a fully hydraulic six-section telescopic boom, it extends from 5.3 meters up to 24 meters, enabling a wide range of lifting applications from short radius heavy picks to extended reach operations. Additionally, it can be equipped with jibs measuring 3.6 meters or 5.5 meters, further increasing its operational flexibility, with a maximum lifting height of 30.3 meters when using the jib.

The KRM-13H has excellent lifting capabilities across its boom lengths, including 13 tons at 1.7 meters radius on the shortest boom, and 3.2 tons at 5.5 meters radius on the fully extended 24-meter boom. For light lifts and added reach, the jibs offer maximum rated capacities of 1.6 tons (3.6m jib) and 1 ton (5.5m jib) at specified angles. The crane’s boom elevation ranges from -7.5° to 82°, with elevation and extension achieved through high-speed hydraulic cylinders capable of moving from minimum to maximum in approximately 30 seconds and 65 seconds respectively.

Its hoisting system is built around twin hydraulic winches powered by high-performance motors with differential gear reduction, providing a main winch speed of up to 118 meters per minute (5th layer) and auxiliary winch speeds of up to 103 meters per minute (3rd layer). High-speed rope lowering functions are also included for efficient load handling.

Designed with stability and safety in mind, the KRM-13H features an H-type hydraulic outrigger system with maximum extension width of 4,750 mm, with automatic detection of outrigger spread and integration with the ACS (Automatic Crane Stopper) overload prevention system. Safety devices include drum hold mechanisms, boom lowering prevention, overwind protection, hydraulic safety valves, automatic brakes, swing warning lamps, and hydraulic oil overheat alarms.

The carrier is powered by a Hino W04D-TF engine, a four-cylinder turbocharged diesel with intercooler producing 118 kW at 2,800 rpm and 461 Nm torque at 1,600 rpm. It features selectable 4×2 and 4×4 drive modes, enabling superior off-road capability, and a travel speed up to 49 km/h. The crane’s compact dimensions — overall length of 7,375 mm, width of 2,750 mm, and height of 2,845 mm — combined with a tight minimum turning radius of 3.92 meters (four-wheel steer mode), make it highly maneuverable in confined spaces.

Comfort and operational efficiency are further enhanced with options including air-conditioned cab with dehumidifier, tilt/telescopic steering, fully adjustable suspension seat, power windows, hot/cool box, and integrated AM/FM radio with clock.

Altogether, the Kato KRM-13H offers an excellent balance of lifting performance, maneuverability, and operator-focused features, making it a strong choice for utility work, building construction, and general lifting operations in challenging terrain.
