Kobelco RK160-2 (LYNX 160)
The Kobelco RK160-2, known as the “LYNX 160”, is a 16-ton class rough terrain crane designed for compact maneuverability and efficient lifting performance. With a 26-meter main boom and 5.5-meter jib, this versatile crane is built for operations in confined or urban job sites, delivering both reach and power in a small footprint.

Product Description
The RK160-2 “LYNX 160” by Kobelco is a highly capable rough terrain crane featuring a compact design suited for narrow and restricted construction zones while still offering robust performance with a 16-ton maximum lifting capacity. Its main boom spans from 6.7 to 26 meters using five telescoping sections, giving operators an excellent range of working heights and radii. The crane also features a 5.5-meter jib, with a maximum lifting height of approximately 32.1 meters when using both boom and jib in combination.
Power is provided by the Mitsubishi 6D14T diesel engine, rated at 136 PS (100 kW) at 2,800 rpm, delivering strong and reliable output to both the travel and lifting systems. The crane supports a travel speed up to 49 km/h, with a minimum turning radius of 3.8 meters, making it ideal for city or site navigation. The RK160-2 uses a full-time 4WD system and offers four steering modes including 2-wheel steer, 4-wheel steer, crab steer, and radial steer, enhancing its maneuverability.
The crane is fitted with dual winches—main and auxiliary—capable of hoisting speeds of up to 98 meters per minute (3rd layer), and boom hoisting speeds of 39 seconds from 9° to 80°. Slewing speed ranges between 2.5 to 4.5 rpm, allowing smooth and controlled operation during hoisting. The boom elevating system employs dual hydraulic cylinders with synchronized action and an automatic safety lock.
Outriggers extend to provide a maximum lifting stability footprint of 5.1m × 4.2m, and the crane is equipped with a range of safety features, including load moment indicators, swing limiters, and hydraulic lock valves for boom and winch systems. Hook blocks include 16t (2-sheave), 2.9t single, and an optional ball hook.
The superstructure sits on a robust carrier with a full-vision operator cab offering comfort and ergonomic control. The RK160-2 is outfitted with a 260-liter fuel tank, and travel weight is divided into front and rear sections—9,270 kg and 9,885 kg respectively, giving a total machine weight of around 19,155 kg (curb weight).
This crane is a compact powerhouse, offering excellent lifting capabilities and high maneuverability, ideal for utility, industrial, and inner-city construction sites.
