Tadano GR120N(L)-2
The Tadano GR-120NL-2 and GR-120N-2 are compact rough terrain cranes with a 23-meter 4-section boom and 3.6-meter jib, offering a total lifting height of 27.5 meters. The GR-120NL-2 supports a 12-ton capacity, while the GR-120N-2 is limited to 4.9 tons to meet road regulation standards, making both models ideal for urban and tight-space operations.

Product Description
Tadano’s GR-120NL-2 and GR-120N-2 represent a specialized class of light-duty rough terrain cranes built for superior mobility, efficient lifting, and excellent operator control in confined or urban environments. Sharing the same carrier and upper crane structure, both models are equipped with a 4-section hydraulically operated round boom extending from 5.4 to 23.0 meters. An additional 3.6-meter manual jib, attachable with 5°, 25°, or 45° offset angles, provides a maximum lifting height of 27.5 meters and enhances lifting versatility in overhead clearance-restricted job sites.
The GR-120NL-2 is rated for a full 12-ton maximum lifting capacity at a 2.5-meter radius using 5-part line reeving. In contrast, the GR-120N-2 is restricted to a 4.9-ton maximum to comply with specific road transport regulations in Japan, allowing it to travel legally without disassembly or permits. Despite the rated capacity difference, both cranes maintain the same structural design, boom performance, and ease of setup.
Power is provided by a Mitsubishi 4-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine rated at 129 kW (175 PS), paired with a 4-speed automatic transmission offering selectable 2WD and 4WD drive modes. Their compact design includes a tight 3.5-meter turning radius via 4-wheel steer and a top speed of 49 km/h, giving them strong maneuverability in narrow or constrained environments.
Slewing is driven by a hydraulic planetary reducer with a rotation speed of 2.2 rpm. The boom elevates from -1° to 80° within 24 seconds. Both cranes use a multi-pump hydraulic system with a 456-liter tank feeding all lifting and travel functions. X-type outriggers offer a maximum spread of 4.3 meters and allow multiple width settings to accommodate uneven or narrow sites.
Safety features include Tadano’s AML (Automatic Moment Limiter), boom angle indicators, overwind prevention, and hydraulic locks for all critical movements. The cab is air-conditioned, ergonomically designed, and fitted with wide-visibility windows, rear camera, and intuitive controls to reduce operator fatigue.
In summary, the GR-120NL-2 and GR-120N-2 combine ease of transport, user-friendly design, and lifting flexibility, making them highly effective for facility maintenance, residential construction, and light utility work where space and regulation compliance are critical.
