Product Description

The Tadano TR-250M-7 is a compact and high-performing 25-ton rough terrain crane engineered for mobility, versatility, and efficient lifting on tough job sites. It is widely used in construction, utility works, and industrial applications where space is limited but lifting demands remain substantial.

The crane’s 4-section main boom is constructed from high-tensile hexagonal box-type steel and extends from 9.5 m to 30.5 m. It is complemented by a jib attachment that can range from 8.0 m to 13.0 m, allowing for a maximum lifting height of 44.2 meters. The jib can be deployed with hydraulic non-stage offset capabilities from 5° to 45°, enhancing its flexibility for elevated or angled lifts.

The crane achieves its 25-ton lifting capacity at 3.5 meters radius using an 8-part line configuration. Capacity decreases progressively with boom extension and radius, down to 1.0 ton at 30.5 m, reflecting its tailored performance for medium-duty applications. A single top sheave is also provided for single-line hoisting with a capacity of 3.5 tons.

Powered by a Mitsubishi 6M60-TLA 4-cycle, 6-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine, the TR-250M-7 delivers a robust 200 kW (272 PS) at 2,700 rpm, with a maximum torque of 785 Nm at 1,400 rpm. This engine is matched to a power shift transmission with 4 forward and 1 reverse gears, and offers a Hi/Low switchable range. A 3-element torque converter with automatic lock-up improves fuel efficiency and drivability in both road and off-road conditions.

The drivetrain supports both 2-wheel (4×2) and 4-wheel drive (4×4) operation. Combined with hydro-pneumatic suspension on both axles and full-floating axles, the crane provides excellent stability and ride quality across rugged terrain. Its maximum travel speed is 49 km/h, and minimum turning radius is 5.0 m with 4-wheel steering, or 8.4 m with 2-wheel steering, ensuring strong maneuverability in confined spaces.

For lifting operations, the crane is equipped with two hydraulic winches (main and auxiliary), both capable of 120 m/min single line winding speed on the 4th layer. Hook speed is 15.0 m/min (8-part line) for both winches. The wire ropes are spin-resistant, with the main rope measuring 16 mm × 170 m and the auxiliary rope 16 mm × 98 m.

The boom elevation range is from 0° to 83°, with full elevation or retraction taking just 45 seconds. Slewing is continuous at 360°, driven by a hydraulic planetary gear reducer, with a slewing speed of 2.6 min⁻¹ and negative brake system for safe stopping.

The fully hydraulic X-type outriggers provide outstanding stability, offering three extension widths: 6.3 m (max), 5.9 / 5.0 m (mid), and 3.1 m (min), each independently controlled. The maximum vertical outrigger load is rated at 26.8 tons, and the crane’s hydraulic pilot valve system ensures smooth and proportional control over outrigger positioning.

Safety is integral to the TR-250M-7, with standard features including:

  • Automatic Moment Limiter (AML)
  • Swing and elevation limiters
  • Winch drum lock, swing lock, hook safety latch
  • Counterbalance and safety valves for boom and jib
  • Outrigger extension detection
  • Over-winding cutout and working area restriction device

Additional operator and service-friendly features include a dehumidified air-conditioned cab, hydraulic oil temperature lamp, visual winch rotation indicator, and centralized lubrication. The crane also includes engine over-run protection, electric mirrors, and a TV monitor for left boom side view.

The crane has a gross vehicle weight of 26,495 kg, split evenly across its axles, and runs on 385/95R25 170E ROAD tires. It holds 300 liters of diesel fuel, with electrical systems powered by two 12V DC batteries (24V total).

In conclusion, the Tadano TR-250M-7 stands out as a reliable and efficient solution for lifting up to 25 tons in tight and off-road environments. With its powerful engine, fast winch speeds, modern hydraulic controls, and robust safety systems, it is a crane that meets the needs of both productivity and precision in diverse field applications.
