Product Description
The TR-600XL-4 rough terrain crane by Tadano is a rugged and reliable lifting machine built to handle heavy-duty applications across construction and industrial job sites. It features a four-section synchronized telescopic boom with a total length ranging from 11.0 meters to 34.1 meters (36.1 to 111.9 feet). The boom’s hexagonal box construction and hydraulic telescoping system provide both strength and smooth extension operation. The boom is fitted with five sheaves and a boom elevation range of -0.4° to 80.5°, offering significant flexibility for a range of lifting heights and radii.
To further extend its reach, the crane supports a double-stage bi-fold lattice jib, with selectable offsets of 3.5°, 25°, and 45°, and lengths of 9.9 meters or 17.7 meters. This allows the TR-600XL-4 to achieve a maximum tip height exceeding 58 meters when fully configured. The jib is stored on the side of the boom and is equipped with hydraulic-assist cylinders for efficient mounting and stowing.
Both the main and auxiliary winches are powered by axial piston hydraulic motors through planetary reduction gear systems. These winches support variable speeds with a maximum line speed of 178 meters per minute and a maximum permissible line pull of 6,880 kg (15,200 lbs). Each drum accommodates 3/4″ (19 mm) wire rope, with a maximum capacity of approximately 1,095 feet (333.9 meters) on the main winch.
Swing operations are facilitated by a hydraulic motor connected to a planetary gear reducer, providing 360° continuous rotation at a rate of 2.5 rpm. The system includes a positive mechanical swing lock for pick-and-carry operations.
The crane is powered by a Mitsubishi 6D16-TLEE diesel engine, turbocharged and after-cooled, generating 223 horsepower (166 kW) at 2,700 rpm and a peak torque of 521 ft-lbs (72 kgm) at 1,300 rpm. It is coupled with a full automatic transmission with six forward and two reverse gears, enabling the crane to reach speeds of up to 40 km/h (25 mph). The TR-600XL-4 operates on a 4x4x4 drivetrain with selectable steering modes: 2-wheel front, 2-wheel rear, 4-wheel coordinated, and 4-wheel crab steering. The turning radius is a tight 6.7 meters when using 4-wheel steer.
The crane sits on a mono-box frame with a full outrigger system consisting of four hydraulic jacks and beams. These outriggers can be independently deployed at various extensions (up to 7.2 meters center-to-center) and are automatically monitored by Tadano’s AML-L system, which adjusts lifting capacities based on outrigger position and configuration.
The operator’s cab is ergonomically designed with full instrumentation, pilot-assisted joystick controls, sliding and power windows, and optional air conditioning and heating. The cab’s AML-L system continuously monitors boom length, angle, radius, load, swing angle, and other parameters, issuing visual and audible alerts for any overload conditions or misconfigurations.
All these features make the Tadano TR-600XL-4 a highly adaptable, powerful, and operator-friendly rough terrain crane, well-suited for infrastructure, utility, and industrial work demanding precision and high-capacity lifting.
