Product Description

The Potain MC 310 K16 is one of the most powerful models in Potain’s Topkit tower crane lineup, specifically tailored for high-capacity vertical construction projects. Featuring a maximum lifting capacity of 16 tonnes, this crane is capable of handling extremely heavy loads such as structural steel, large concrete panels, and mechanical plant components. At its full 70-meter jib extension, it maintains a tip load capacity of 2.7 tonnes, with significantly higher capacities at shorter radii—up to 14.6 tonnes at 30 meters and 8.75 tonnes at 35 meters. These load curves make it exceptionally versatile across a range of building scales and designs.

The MC 310 K16 is supported by a robust 2-meter x 2-meter mast system with configurations including P21A, VB21A, P22A, and VB22, offering a freestanding hook height up to approximately 62.6 meters and anchorage configurations that allow the crane to climb internally within structures to exceed 215 meters. This modular mast system ensures the crane adapts seamlessly to both medium-rise and super high-rise construction needs.

For hoisting, the crane can be equipped with either the 100 LVF 40 Optima winch or the more powerful 150 LCC 40. The 100 LVF winch offers a 75 kW motor capable of handling 16 tonnes with a line speed up to 117 m/min and drum capacity for 1,136 meters of rope—suitable for tall building sites. The 150 LCC winch provides even more torque with a 110 kW motor and lifting speeds up to 168 m/min, enabling quicker cycle times. The trolley mechanism (6 DVF 6) delivers travel speeds of 42 m/min for full load (16 tonnes) and up to 100 m/min for lighter loads, enhancing efficiency in load placement. Slewing is managed by the RVF 162 Optima+ system with dual 7.5 hp motors, providing smooth and responsive crane rotation at speeds up to 0.7 rpm.

Its base foundation options include the BA 66 A and B 619A anchoring systems, supporting both ground-mounted and climbing operations. This flexibility, combined with a counter-jib ballast system finely calibrated for stability and performance, ensures safe and efficient operation even under demanding jobsite conditions.

Electrically, the MC 310 K16 is compatible with 400V (50Hz) and 480V (60Hz) networks. Power requirements range from 98 kVA for the 100 LVF to 138 kVA for the 150 LCC, with all systems conforming to CEI 38 and IEC 38 standards.

Launched as part of Potain’s continuous innovation in the heavy-duty tower crane segment, the MC 310 K16 stands out for its exceptional lifting power, adaptability, and reliability. It remains a top choice for contractors engaged in high-rise residential, commercial towers, and industrial construction requiring extended reach and substantial load handling capabilities.
