Key Features & Benefits
The Demag AC 1300J all-terrain crane is engineered for large-scale, heavy-duty lifting tasks, offering robust capabilities in both industrial and infrastructure projects. It delivers a maximum lifting capacity of 400 tons with a maximum boom length of 78 meters. The crane’s main boom extends in multiple stages, ranging from 15.0 meters to 78.0 meters, with a lattice-type design that combines high strength and optimal weight distribution.
The AC 1300J offers versatile jib options, including fixed jibs from 12.0 meters to 54.0 meters and luffing jib configurations from 20.0 meters to 78.0 meters, achieving a maximum working height of up to 86 meters. The boom elevation angle ranges from -0.5° to +82°, providing exceptional flexibility for various lifting geometries.
This crane is powered by a Daimler-Benz OM443LA 8-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine delivering 560 hp (245 kW) at 2100 rpm, with a maximum torque of 245 kgm at 1300 rpm. The crane can reach travel speeds up to 65 km/h on the road, supported by a hydropneumatic suspension system and 14×8 drive configuration (14 wheels with 8 driven). The carrier measures 15.965 meters in length, 3.0 meters in width, and 2.719 meters in height, with a total weight of 41,800 kg.
The crane uses a sophisticated multi-axle steering system, enabling better maneuverability in confined spaces. A power steering system provides precise control, with multiple steerable axle combinations for improved handling. The drivetrain includes a 7-speed transmission with torque converter and auxiliary retarder, enabling smooth operation and controlled braking.
The main and auxiliary hoists operate at speeds up to 160 meters per minute, utilizing 24 mm diameter wire ropes with maximum rope lengths of 470 meters (main) and 420 meters (auxiliary). The swing system offers 360° continuous rotation at up to 1.0 rpm.
Operator comfort and safety are central to the AC 1300J’s design. The cab features large windows, a tiltable and rotating operator seat, ergonomic control layout, heating and air conditioning, and advanced monitoring systems for engine and crane parameters. The superstructure cab can tilt from 0° to 20°, providing improved visibility during high-angle lifting.
For added flexibility, the crane offers a variety of hook blocks ranging from 400 tons (2×11 sheaves) weighing 8000 kg, down to a single-line 11-ton hook block weighing 530 kg, accommodating a wide range of load types and rigging requirements.
Other highlights include:
- Hydraulically operated boom pinning system for fast reconfiguration.
- Two-stage planetary swing drive with hydraulic brake and free swing function.
- Automatic lubrication system on boom head and winches.
- Outrigger spread up to 10.0 meters width and maximum working radius of 7.0 meters.
- Advanced safety and load monitoring systems integrated into the hydraulic circuits.
Overall, the Demag AC 1300J delivers impressive lifting performance, high-speed travel capability, and operator-focused comfort and safety features, making it an ideal choice for large-scale construction, plant work, and infrastructure projects requiring precision and reliability in heavy lifting.
