Demag AC 155

The Demag AC 155 is an all-terrain crane engineered for flexibility, high mobility, and efficient setup in demanding environments. It features a monobox main frame made of high-grade, close-grained structural steel with integral outrigger boxes, ensuring strength and durability under load.

Propelled by a Daimler-Benz OM 401 LA, 6-cylinder water-cooled diesel engine, it delivers 213 kW (290 HP) and a maximum torque of 1180 Nm between 1100 and 1600 rpm. The engine is paired with a ZF powershift transmission and electric gear shifting, which includes a transfer case with torque converter. The carrier offers a 6x4x6 configuration, with the first axle non-driven and the 2nd and 3rd axles driven and steered. All axles are suspended via a hydro-pneumatic system and can be hydraulically locked, allowing great adaptability to terrain.

The braking system consists of a dual-line air service brake, a spring-loaded parking brake, and constant decompression with an engine exhaust brake. The cab is a 2-man heated, steel-plate construction with all-round glazing, adjustable steering wheel, and ergonomic operator controls.

The superstructure houses a hydraulically driven system powered from the carrier’s engine. It utilizes a variable-displacement axial piston pump and a fixed displacement axial-piston pump to power four independent hydraulic movements. The slewing system incorporates a hydraulic motor with planetary reduction and a foot-pedal-operated brake, delivering reliable and precise control.

The main boom is composed of one base and four telescoping sections, providing a total boom length of 31.5 meters. The optional boom extensions include 1- or 2-part folding jibs of either 9.2 or 17.8 meters, with offset positions of 0°, 20°, and 40°, expanding reach and application range. The counterweight system consists of six sections totaling 4.15 tonnes, with 1.9 tonnes hydraulically stowed on the carrier deck and additional optional configurations up to 7.15 tonnes.

The Demag AC 155 also features electronic safety devices, including a digital load moment indicator, boom angle and length display, load radius, and limit switches for travel and hoisting. Hydraulic servo controls allow for precise operation using self-centering control levers.

A key feature of this crane is its modularity and ease of transportation, making it suitable for general construction, industrial lifting, and small-scale infrastructure work. It combines a high-performance hoisting system with excellent roadability, ensuring optimal productivity across diverse operational environments.
