Product Description

The Kato KA-1300SL is a flagship 130-ton all terrain crane, reflecting Kato’s advanced engineering for large-capacity lifting in limited spaces. Its main boom is a six-section, full-power hydraulic boom made of a high-rigidity round cross-section structure. This boom extends from 11.8 meters to 52 meters, and delivers efficient telescoping speed and stability, making it suitable for both heavy lifting and precise high-reach positioning. It offers a maximum main boom lifting height of 53.1 meters.

To extend its lifting versatility, the KA-1300SL includes a four-stage SL (super luffing) jib, also made from a high-strength round cross-section profile. The jib extends up to 26.6 meters, with a maximum lifting height of 79.6 meters when combined with the main boom. The SL jib features variable offset angles from 2° to 60°, allowing optimized operation around buildings or within confined construction zones.

Powering the carrier is a Mitsubishi 8M22 diesel engine producing 353 kW (480 PS), and delivering up to 1,770 Nm of torque, while the crane superstructure is powered by a quieter, emission-compliant engine rated at 140 kW, optimized for smooth operation. The crane conforms to Japanese emission standards and is classified as a low-noise machine under the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism.

Its design emphasizes compactness and accessibility. The rear swing radius is just 3.3 meters, allowing it to perform large lifts even when working close to buildings or obstacles. The crane’s boom elevation ranges from -1.8° to 85°, enabling vertical lifting in tight surroundings.

Operationally, the KA-1300SL offers an intuitive experience with its tiltable cab (0° to 15°) for enhanced upward visibility, hydraulic pilot-operated levers for fine control, and a wide display color ACS computoroad system providing comprehensive load data and safety diagnostics. The crane also features advanced all-wheel steering systems including general steering, crab steering, and counterweight steering modes for superior mobility—even in narrow site pathways as small as 7.0 meters wide.

Built with a focus on power, compact design, and modern operator assistance, the Kato KA-1300SL is a formidable solution for contractors who require heavy lifting capacity without sacrificing maneuverability or setup efficiency.
