Liebherr LTM 1170N-2

The Liebherr LTM 1170N-2 is a 170-ton class all-terrain crane, offering exceptional lifting performance and operational flexibility. Its telescopic main boom extends from 13.2 meters to 60 meters across 6 sections, while optional folding jibs extend its reach further with available lengths of 12.2 m, 22.0 m, and 29.0 m. It boasts a maximum hoisting height of 84 meters with jib and 59 meters with the main boom alone.

Equipped with dual winches, both with 10.4-ton line pull capacity and hoisting speeds of up to 140 meters/min, the crane ensures fast and efficient lifting. The slewing system offers smooth 360° rotation at 0.5 to 1.5 rpm, and boom elevation from 13.2 to 60 meters is completed in approximately 400 seconds. The winch ropes used are 23 mm in diameter with 295 m length.

The superstructure is powered by a Liebherr D914T1 engine, producing 170 hp at 1,800 rpm and a maximum torque of 72.4 kg·m at 1,400 rpm, with a 300-liter fuel tank. The advanced LICCON system provides digital display of lifting radius, boom length, height, and real-time working conditions. It includes overload prevention, safety interlocks, and pilot-controlled hydraulic systems for precise operations.

Mounted on a 5-axle carrier with 10 wheels, the LTM 1170N-2 delivers high road performance with a top speed of 76 km/h. It is powered by a Liebherr D9408TI-E engine, generating 544 hp at 2,100 rpm and a maximum torque of 227.5 kg·m at 1,500 rpm. The drivetrain includes an Allison automatic transmission with torque converter and retarder. All axles feature hydro-pneumatic suspension with automatic leveling and locking.

The steering system allows multiple steering modes, including normal and crab steering, ensuring excellent maneuverability even in tight sites. Minimum turning radius is 11.95 m or 8.72 m depending on configuration. Brake systems include hydraulic double-circuit service brakes, exhaust brakes, and spring-actuated parking brakes.

The crane is fitted with 16.00 R25 tyres, and the control cabin includes ergonomic features such as tilt-back seating, air conditioning, and safety glazing. A range of hook blocks is available, including 170-ton (9 sheaves), 137-ton (7 sheaves), 100-ton (5 sheaves), down to 10-ton single-line hooks, providing operational flexibility.
