Key Features & Benefits
Introduced as one of Liebherr’s flagship all-terrain cranes, the LTM 1300 delivers powerful performance with a lifting capacity of 300 metric tons. At its core is a Daimler-Benz OM 447 A diesel engine, delivering 313 kW (420 HP) at 1800 rpm and a maximum torque of 950 lbs-ft between 1000 to 1600 rpm. Power is smoothly managed through an Allison CLBT 755 automatic transmission, coupled with a hydrodynamic retarder brake, ensuring efficient power transfer and control in varied site conditions.
The carrier is mounted on a 7-axle chassis, where the 1st, 3rd, and 6th axles are steerable, greatly improving maneuverability. All axles are supported by a hydropneumatic suspension system with automatic level compensation, providing excellent roadability and on-site stability.
On the crane’s superstructure, the telescopic boom spans from 51 to 197 feet (15.5 m to 60 m), composed of one base section and four independently extendable telescopic sections. This setup enables quick configuration changes and adaptability for different lifting scenarios. To extend its reach further, the crane is compatible with various jib configurations, including:
- Luffing jib: 57 to 230 ft (17.4 to 70 m)
- Lattice fly jib: 34 to 138 ft (10.5 to 42 m)
Operational safety is reinforced by Liebherr’s LICCON control system, which incorporates an overload indicator, comprehensive system monitoring, and multiple fail-safe valves protecting hydraulic circuits. Control is intuitive, utilizing self-centering levers that operate in four directions, giving the operator precise command over lifting functions.
The hoisting system allows for dual-hook operation or optional setup for luffing lattice jib handling, making the LTM 1300 suitable for modular lifting and specialized erection work. A TELMA-18 eddy current brake on the 4th axle further enhances braking performance during transport, contributing to safety and longevity under heavy loads.
With its exceptional combination of power, reach, and control, the Liebherr LTM 1300 continues to be a reliable workhorse in demanding fields such as wind turbine erection, industrial plant work, and large-scale infrastructure projects. It remains a prime example of Liebherr’s engineering, blending robust mechanical design with modern operational intelligence.
