Key Features & Benefits
The Tadano ATF-1300XL is a 130 US ton class all terrain hydraulic crane, built to handle complex lifting requirements in diverse environments. It is equipped with a five-section telescopic boom fabricated from high tensile steel, extending from 41’ 11” (12.8 m) to a full reach of 167’ 4” (51.0 m). The maximum sheave height is approximately 177’ 2” (54.0 m), while the boom extension system, made up of a 31.1′ (9.5 m) base and optional additional segments, can push the reach further to nearly 265 feet (80.8 m) with offsets of 5°, 20°, or 40°.
Mounted on a five-axle FAUN-designed carrier, the ATF-1300XL is powered by a Mercedes-Benz OM 502 LA V8 diesel engine, producing 476 hp and 1,548 lb-ft of torque. It uses an Allison HD 4560 automatic transmission with a hydrodynamic torque converter, offering six forward speeds and one reverse. The crane features an all-wheel drive (10×8 off-road) and semi-block dual circuit hydraulic steering, with up to four steerable axles for tight turning radii and maneuverability on confined sites.
The superstructure has its own Mercedes-Benz OM 904 LA four-cylinder diesel engine generating 170 hp. It operates a three-circuit hydraulic system for hoisting, slewing, telescoping, and derricking. Both the main and auxiliary winches deliver a line pull of 20,457 lbs with maximum speeds up to 419 ft/min, using 0.83″ (21 mm) wire rope.
Operational efficiency is enhanced through Tadano’s load moment indicator (PAT-PDC System), boom and swing control, and ergonomic cab design with full visibility and climate control. The crane’s counterweight system is modular with up to 55,115 lbs, deployable via hydraulic cylinders.
Despite its lifting power, the ATF-1300XL remains road-legal and mobile, with a maximum travel speed of 49.7 mph (80 km/h) and a theoretical gradeability of 55%. Whether used for industrial construction, infrastructure, or energy projects, the ATF-1300XL offers a blend of reach, lifting strength, and on-road/off-road agility.
