Tadano ATF30-2L

The Tadano ATF 30-2L is a compact yet robust 30-ton all terrain crane built for versatility in both on-road and off-road environments. Its design emphasizes maneuverability and lifting capability, making it especially well-suited for urban construction sites or confined spaces where space and setup constraints are a challenge.

The crane is built on a torsion-resistant welded frame made of high-strength, fine-grained steel. Its 4×4 drivetrain offers excellent traction, and both axles are driven and steered, each equipped with differential locks to handle uneven or slippery terrain. The crane rides on 14.00 R 25 tires, supported by a hydro-pneumatic suspension system with automatic levelling.

Its four-section telescopic boom is constructed from high-tensile steel and extends hydraulically from 8.6 to 28.5 meters under partial load. The boom lifting is performed by a single double-acting hydraulic cylinder with an integrated brake and holding valve, ensuring precise control and safety. For additional reach and operational flexibility, a variety of jib options are available as optional equipment, including an 8.0-meter single-folding jib and double-folding extensions from 7.1 to 12.2 meters with 0°, 15°, and 30° offset angles.

Power comes from a Mercedes-Benz OM 906 LA 6-cylinder diesel engine rated at 205 kW (279 hp) at 2200 rpm and producing 1100 Nm of torque. The engine is paired with a ZF WG 210 powershift transmission offering 6 forward gears and 1 reverse gear, with hydrodynamic torque converter and lock-up from 1st gear, giving it strong pulling power and smooth acceleration.

The hydraulic system consists of a triple-circuit setup powered by a load-sensing axial piston pump and a triple gear pump. It provides smooth, efficient control of all crane movements through two joystick levers in the superstructure cab. The slewing mechanism, powered by an axial piston motor with two-stage planetary reduction, operates at variable speeds up to 2.5 rpm with a foot-actuated or automatic brake system.

The main winch uses an axial piston motor with planetary reduction and a spring-loaded multi-disc brake, and includes integrated anti-sagging features and the “Super-Stop” reeving system for stable load handling.

The ATF 30-2L features four-point hydraulic telescopic outriggers with an outrigger spread of up to 6.35 meters. The outriggers are controlled from both the carrier and superstructure cabs and include level indicators to ensure safe setup.

The superstructure cab is a spacious all-steel panoramic design with safety-tinted glass, an air-cushioned seat, and engine-independent hot air heater. It provides excellent visibility, comfort, and easy access to crane operation controls and outrigger monitoring. The carrier cab, with a one-man layout, offers full control instrumentation for road travel, safety glass, spring-mounted seats, and speed control.

Standard safety features include a load moment device (LMD), hoist and swing limit switches, drum rotation indicators, holding valves on hydraulic cylinders, and pipe/hose rupture protection. Optional equipment includes oil cooler, auxiliary winches, towing attachments, air conditioning, and customized paint or lettering.
