Demag AC 35L

The Demag AC 35SL is a versatile 35-ton city crane engineered for high efficiency and ease of use in urban environments. With a main boom length of 37.4 meters—the longest in its category—the crane can achieve a maximum tip height of 47 meters, making it ideal for tasks requiring both height and precise maneuvering. The fully hydraulic boom system enables fast and seamless telescoping, providing quick setup times and the ability to handle high loads across various boom extensions. Optional boom extensions, such as a side-folding 1-part jib of 8 or 15 meters, are available, offering offsets at 0°, 20°, and 40° to further increase operational flexibility.

The AC 35SL is powered by a water-cooled 6-cylinder DaimlerChrysler OM 906 LA engine, producing 205 kW (279 hp) at 2300 rpm and a maximum torque of 1100 Nm at 1300 rpm. This engine is compliant with Euromot 2 emissions standards, ensuring environmentally friendly performance. It features a fuel tank capacity of 250 liters, allowing for extended operation without frequent refueling. The automated powershift transmission includes six forward and three reverse gears, equipped with a torque converter and differential lock-out, providing smooth and efficient driving across different terrains.

The crane’s chassis utilizes a 4x4x4 drive configuration, with a robust monobox main frame integrated with hydraulic telescopic outriggers, ensuring stability during lifting operations. The outriggers are equipped with electronic leveling indicators, which help in setting up the crane quickly and accurately. Axles 1 and 2 feature planetary hub reduction with transverse differential lock-out, while the hydropneumatic suspension allows for automatic or manual leveling, providing added stability.

Designed for easy mobility, the AC 35SL is fitted with single wheels on all axles, utilizing 16.00 R 25 tires that offer a balance of strength and flexibility for navigating urban streets. The dual-circuit hydraulic steering system is compliant with EC directives, and the crane supports crab steering, making it exceptionally maneuverable in confined spaces. The braking system features a dual-line air system with ABS, and includes spring-loaded parking brakes for enhanced safety.

Operator comfort is a priority in the design of the AC 35SL, featuring a spacious, well-equipped upper cab with sliding doors, a large hinged windscreen, and corrosion-resistant coatings. The cab offers clear visibility and is fitted with full instrumentation, controls, and safety devices, including an electronic load indicator and pressure relief systems. The carrier cab seats two and is air-conditioned, ensuring comfort during transport and operation.

The crane’s superstructure is powered by a dedicated hydraulic system with a reservoir capacity of 300 liters, capable of handling multiple simultaneous movements, thanks to its axial piston pump design. The slew unit is driven by a hydraulic motor with a planetary gear reducer, providing smooth and controlled 360-degree rotation. Safety features include hoist limit switches, load indicators, and automatic brake valves to ensure reliable and secure operation.

For additional customization, the Demag AC 35SL offers a range of optional equipment, including bi-carburation systems, various hook blocks, and Telma brake retarders. The crane is also compatible with additional main boom extensions and rooster sheaves for single-line lifting, making it adaptable for different job requirements.
