Product Description
The Terex Demag CC 9800 is a high-capacity crawler crane built for challenging heavy-lift projects, particularly in industries like petrochemical and energy. This crane is an adaptation of the Demag CC 8800-1 model, with enhancements that include a wider boom for increased stability and a higher load moment capacity of 27,000 tonne-meters. The crane boasts a maximum lifting capacity of 1,600 tonnes, making it suitable for extremely heavy loads.
The CC 9800 offers various boom configurations, with a maximum boom length of 156 meters in the SSL/LSL (SGL 108 m) setup. The luffing jib configuration allows an additional 120 meters, enabling a maximum reach that combines 108 meters of main boom with the full 120 meters of luffing jib, achieving an impressive 230 meters of lifting height. The crane’s luffing jib features a versatile angle adjustment, ranging from 88° to 55°, which aids in precise placement of loads at various heights.
The crawler carrier is designed with a robust five-section structure, including cross axles and crawler side frames, providing stability and flexibility. Each crawler is driven by two hydraulic motors, allowing for controlled counter-rotation and enhanced maneuverability. The crane’s superstructure is powered by a Daimler OM 502 LA engine with an output of 380 kW (516 HP) and meets EUROMOT 3b, Tier 4i, and CARB emission standards. This engine, paired with a 2,400 Nm torque rating, ensures reliable performance under demanding conditions. The fuel tank has a capacity of 2,000 liters, enabling extended operation times.
The CC 9800 also incorporates a dual drive line system, which provides redundancy; if one drive line fails, the other continues operation, ensuring uninterrupted work on critical lifts. Additionally, it is equipped with electronic load indicators, hoist limit switches, and advanced hydraulic systems for enhanced operational safety and efficiency.
For stabilization during lifts, the CC 9800 includes a Superlift counterweight system with a maximum of 800 tonnes, which can be adjusted with a radius from 19 to 30 meters. This crane is highly versatile and transportable, with features such as quick-disconnect fittings and split-type side frames to facilitate easier transportation. Optional equipment includes a 60-ton runner and a counterweight carrier, enabling customization based on specific project requirements.
