Key Features & Benefits

The IHI CCH900 crawler crane is designed for reliable heavy lifting across construction, infrastructure, and industrial applications. With a maximum lifting capacity of 90 metric tons at a 4-meter radius, the CCH900 delivers excellent performance thanks to its powerful Cummins QSB6.7 diesel engine producing 179 kW (240 hp) at 2,000 rpm. The crane complies with US EPA Tier III and EU Stage IIIA emission standards, reflecting IHI’s commitment to environmentally responsible design.

The boom system consists of a basic boom of 13 meters, extendable to a maximum of 61 meters through modular inserts. The crane can also be equipped with a jib (auxiliary boom) that adds up to 22 meters, resulting in a maximum boom + jib combination of 71 meters. The main and auxiliary winches feature axial piston hydraulic motors and Lebus-grooved drums, providing smooth hoisting and lowering operations at rope speeds of up to 120 m/min. The boom hoist drum achieves speeds up to 65 m/min. A maximum single-line pull of 20 tons ensures efficient lifting of heavy loads.

The crane offers stable movement with travel speeds of 1.5 km/h (high) and 1.0 km/h (low), with gradeability of 30% (16.7°). Its 400-liter fuel tank supports extended operational shifts, while the average ground bearing pressure of 87 kPa ensures safe and steady work even on less compacted surfaces. The swing system uses axial piston motors with wet multi-disc brakes and provides a swing speed of 2.4 rpm for precise load positioning.

Safety and operator convenience are central to the CCH900’s design. Standard safety devices include a moment limiter, over-winding and boom over-hoist prevention devices, second boom throw-out prevention, boom overturn prevention, swing lock, drum locks, automatic brakes, slew and travel warning buzzers, emergency engine stop switch, and hydraulic circuit safety valves. The operator’s cab is equipped with air conditioning, sun visors, reclining seats, various gauges, and warning indicators on the OK monitor display, along with practical amenities such as storage pouches, foot rests, and a radio.

Optional equipment expands versatility further, including free-fall winches, third drum devices, boom point clearance lamps, work lights, camera monitoring systems, additional guards, and other customizations.

Altogether, the IHI CCH900 offers a balance of lifting power, durability, smooth operation, and advanced safety features, making it an adaptable choice for mid-capacity heavy lifting projects in a wide range of challenging environments.
