Product Description

The Kato NK-20B emerged as a durable and flexible solution for medium-duty lifting tasks, combining practical boom reach with truck-based mobility. It features a fully hydraulic, three-section boom that extends from 10.2 meters to 26.2 meters (33.5 ft to 86.0 ft) using Kato’s “Full Power” synchronized extension system. A fly jib, ranging from 7.4 to 12.0 meters (24.3 ft to 39.4 ft), is integrated beneath the boom for ease of setup and improved height capability. The crane’s boom derricking range is from -3° to 80°, with a full cycle time of 72 seconds.

Hoisting is handled by main and auxiliary winches with a line speed of 63 m/min (206.7 ft/min), and the main hook offers a hoisting speed of 9.0 m/min (29.5 ft/min). Slewing speed is 3.1 rpm, providing controlled rotation during operation. The crane’s hydraulic system utilizes a combination plunger-gear type pump and radial piston slewing motor, controlled via a 4-way double-acting valve system.

The NK-20B is mounted on a 6×4 truck carrier, with options for chassis from Mitsubishi (K201), Nissan (4TW20C), or Hino (ZT300). The Mitsubishi carrier is equipped with a 200 PS Mitsubishi 6DC2 diesel engine, delivering a top speed of 70 km/h and a turning radius of 9.5 meters. Gradeability varies by chassis, with the Mitsubishi version rated at 26%. All chassis feature synchronized or constant mesh transmissions and a dry single-disc clutch.

Safety systems include a buzzer-equipped A.S.L.I. (Automatic Safety Load Indicator) with overload cut-out, optional weight indicators in the operator cab, and mechanical failsafe features for both the winch and boom controls. Outriggers are H-type with wide adjustment capabilities to ensure stability on uneven terrain.

This model excels in flexibility, reliability, and ease of operation, making it a popular choice across various jobsite conditions – from urban developments to remote field work.
