Kato NK500E-III

The Kato NK-500E-III is a robust and reliable 50-ton truck crane engineered to deliver dependable lifting power on a highly mobile highway-compatible chassis. Its fully hydraulic system ensures smooth and precise operations while offering the flexibility needed for a variety of job site conditions.

This crane features a 5-section, fully telescopic boom extending from 10.8 meters to a maximum of 40.0 meters. The maximum lifting height with a jib extension reaches up to 54.7 meters (including a 15.0-meter jib with 5° offset). The boom derricking angle ranges from -2° to 81°, with a derricking time of 48 seconds, ensuring efficient setup and transition.

Equipped with both main and auxiliary winches, the NK-500E-III delivers line speeds of up to 119 m/min (2nd layer, 1 part line) and hoisting hook speeds of 111 m/min (12 part line). Slewing is powered by a hydraulic motor and planetary gear, allowing full 360° continuous rotation at a speed of 2.4 rpm.

At the heart of the carrier is a Mitsubishi 8DC8A turbocharged diesel engine generating 290 PS at 2,300 rpm, with a torque output of 99 kg·m at 1,400 rpm. The drivetrain is an 8×4 configuration with a 10-speed forward and 2-speed reverse synchromesh transmission. The suspension comprises semi-elliptic leaf springs at the front and equalizer beams at the rear, providing road comfort and stability during transport.

The crane is supported by a hydraulic outrigger system with both vertical and horizontal control, giving it a wide base of 7,200 mm when fully extended for stable lifting. The gross vehicle weight is approximately 39,200 kg, with a front-rear axle distribution of 15,200 kg and 24,000 kg, respectively.

Kato’s signature ACS (Automatic Crane System) enhances operational safety with features such as moment limiters, boom angle indicators, over-wind prevention, and automatic drum lock. The driver and operator enjoy a well-equipped cab with amenities including radio, heater, and fan, ensuring comfort during long shifts.
