Franna MAC 25

The Franna MAC 25 represents a benchmark in the pick-and-carry crane class, offering a maximum lifting capacity of 25 tonnes at a 1.4-meter radius and a boom length of up to 18 meters. Designed for operational efficiency and operator comfort, the MAC 25 is powered by a Mercedes OM906LA inline 6-cylinder turbocharged and intercooled diesel engine producing 205 kW (275 hp) at 2200 rpm and 1100 Nm of torque at 1200 rpm, meeting Euro 3 emissions compliance. It is paired with an Allison MD 3060 6-speed fully automatic transmission, which incorporates a lock-up function from 2nd to 6th gear for improved fuel efficiency and dual-range economy via a 2-stage transfer case.

The boom structure consists of a full-powered 4-section hydraulic design, controlled by twin pilot-operated joystick controls, allowing synchronized 4-part hook reeving. The winch system is equipped with two-speed operation and a line pull rating of 4.2 tonnes in low and 1.8 tonnes in high speed. The hook speed can reach up to 110 meters per minute.

One of its standout features is its excellent maneuverability, provided by a 40° articulation to either side of the center and heavy-duty self-aligning bearings. Steering is achieved through twin orbitrol units, while the rear drive/steer axles are reinforced for lifting duties. The steering system includes emergency steering support for safety.

Suspension is a parabolic spring type on the front axle with trailing arm rubber-mounted coil springs on the rear, both integrated with hydraulic lockout systems for stability under load. Braking is provided by twin-circuit spring-applied park brakes and air-over hydraulic disc service brakes on both axles.

The MAC 25 is built with operator comfort and efficiency in mind, featuring a wide cabin, high-visibility layout, digital dash, ergonomic joystick controls, a 386 Load Moment Indicator (LMI), tinted glass, retractable seats, work lights, and a large tool tray. The top-mounted engine and fuel tank simplify maintenance, and a tilt-open rear cover enhances serviceability.

With a turning circle of just 7.9 meters and a top speed of 75 km/h, the MAC 25 is ideal for urban and congested job sites. The crane’s compact size—9.885 meters long and 2.72 meters wide—makes it highly maneuverable. It also includes comprehensive safety features such as cruise control, LMI audio-visual alerts, load charts, and articulation indicators.
