Product Description
The Grove RT530E represents a compact yet capable model in Grove’s rough terrain crane line, offering a 30-ton (27.2 metric ton) rated capacity with exceptional reach and operating versatility. Its four-section full-power boom extends from 28 feet to 95 feet (8.5 to 28.96 meters) using Grove’s proprietary MEGAFORM™ design. This unique boom shape increases strength while minimizing weight, enabling efficient transport and structural reliability in lifting operations.
To extend working reach, the RT530E can be equipped with an offsettable telescoping swingaway jib measuring either 26 feet or 45 feet (7.9 or 13.7 meters), with an available intermediate length of 26–45 feet. The maximum tip height achievable is 147 feet (44.8 meters), providing flexibility for elevated and long-radius lifts.
The crane is powered by a Cummins QSB 5.9 diesel engine, delivering 155 HP (116 kW) at 2,500 rpm. This engine meets Tier II emissions standards and is paired with a Clark 3-speed powershift transmission that offers six forward and six reverse speeds. The RT530E features 4×4 drive and four steering modes (front only, rear only, coordinated, and crab), allowing agile movement in confined and rugged environments. With 20.5 x 25–16 PR tires and a 12-foot 6-inch wheelbase, the RT530E maintains excellent ground clearance and off-road mobility.
Hydraulic operations are managed by three gear pumps with a combined capacity of 101 GPM (382 LPM), providing independent circuits for crane functions such as hoist, swing, boom, and outriggers. The main hoist includes a grooved drum for 9/16-inch (14 mm) wire rope, with line speeds up to 410 ft/min (125 m/min) and a single-line pull of 10,200 lbs (4,627 kg). A matching auxiliary hoist is optional for multi-drum operations.
The operator cab is full-vision, tiltable up to 20°, and features tinted glass, sliding doors, and ergonomic controls. A Load Moment Indicator (LMI) system with graphical displays provides real-time data on load capacity, boom length and angle, radius, and tip height. Safety is further supported by standard anti-two-block devices, audio-visual alarms, and full-rated capacity limiters.
Outriggers offer three positions—full span at 21 feet 6 inches (6.55 meters), mid-span, and fully retracted—with integral holding valves and swing-out style design for quick setup. The counterweight of 8,300 lbs (3,765 kg) is integral and secured to the superstructure for stability during operation.
Compact, maneuverable, and engineered with Grove’s trusted performance features, the RT530E is suited for utility work, plant maintenance, small-scale construction, and industrial lift applications where footprint and lifting agility are paramount.
