Product Description

The Grove RT58E is a rugged and highly capable 22 US ton (20 metric ton) rough terrain crane, well-suited for jobs where tight maneuverability and reliable lifting power are critical. It is equipped with a 25 to 60 ft (7.6 to 18.3 m) three-section full-power boom, offering a maximum tip height of 66 ft (20.1 m). Optional extensions include a 20 ft (6.1 m) jib for the 60 ft boom or a 23 ft (7.0 m) jib for the 70 ft boom configuration, with a maximum tip height of up to 98 ft (29.9 m).

The crane’s hoisting system consists of main and optional auxiliary winches with planetary reductions and grooved drums. The maximum single line pull is 9,640 lbs (4,372 kg) with a high line speed of up to 131 m/min (429 FPM), ensuring efficient load handling. Boom elevation ranges from 0° to 75°, actuated by dual hydraulic cylinders with holding valves. The Grove RT58E features a standard swing mechanism offering 360° continuous rotation via a planetary swing motor and disc brake, with a maximum swing speed of 2.9 RPM.

The RT58E runs on a Cummins B5.9L six-cylinder diesel engine producing 130 bhp at 2,500 RPM, coupled with a remote-mounted powershift transmission offering six forward and reverse gears. Its 4×4 or 4×2 drive system provides solid traction, and the maximum travel speed reaches 24 MPH (38 km/h). The crane is equipped with a cantilever-type outrigger system that provides a maximum pad load of 39,103 lbs (17,737 kg).

Operator comfort is also considered with a full vision cab featuring safety glass, adjustable seat, and ergonomic controls. The hydraulic system is robust, powered by three main pumps and operating at a pressure of 2,500 PSI (172 bar). The RT58E includes standard safety systems such as a load moment indicator, anti-two block system, and swing lock, along with optional equipment like spotlights, cold start aids, and hookblocks.
