Grove RT63S

The Grove RT63S is a rugged and dependable 30-ton rough terrain crane built for demanding lifting environments across construction and industrial job sites. It comes with a 4-section telescopic boom that spans from 24 feet to 72 feet (7.3 to 21.9 meters), with each section supported by wear pads and actuated by a synchronized hydraulic system. The boom can be fitted with a 25 ft, 26 ft, or 29 ft jib, all of which can be manually offset at 0°, 15°, or 30°, and come with self-equalizing suspensions and integrated stops.

Boom elevation is managed by dual-acting hydraulic cylinders with holding valves, allowing a working angle from -5° to 75°. The swing system uses a hydraulic planetary gear with 360° continuous rotation at 2.5 rpm, and includes a swing brake and mechanical lock.

The RT63S features dual hoist systems. The main hoist uses a 5090 MECR winch with 5/8-inch wire rope and a line pull of 8,700 lbs, offering a rope capacity of 690 feet. Free-fall capability is standard. The auxiliary hoist is a 40 SECR model with similar specs, including free-fall, and a shorter rope capacity of 400 ft at 5/8-inch diameter. The hoist systems offer equal speed in up and down directions with integrated planetary reducers and automatic braking.

This crane supports a maximum turning radius of 20 ft and is outfitted with either 21.00×25 or 18.00×25 tubeless Earthmover tires. It features a hydraulic oscillation lockout on the rear axle and dual steering systems with power-assist hydraulic control. Both 4×2 and 4×4 drive configurations are supported via a 4-speed forward and 4-speed reverse power-shift transmission paired with a 3:1 torque converter.

The RT63S offers three engine options:

• Cummins VS-504: 6.9L V8 producing 200 HP at 2600 rpm
• Detroit Diesel 6V-53N: 5.2L V6 delivering 195 HP at 2500 rpm
• Caterpillar D-3150: 6.2L inline-4 outputting 148 HP at 2200 rpm

Each variant runs a 12V electrical system and carries a 93-gallon fuel tank. Hydraulic performance is powered by triple gear pumps with a total output of 120 GPM, with 2250 PSI max pressure, and a 180-gallon oil reservoir.
