Product Description

The Kato KR-70H-LM (SL-600R) is a robust and highly capable 60-ton rough terrain crane designed for heavy-duty lifting operations with enhanced reach and flexibility. At the heart of the crane is a box-type 6-section hydraulic telescopic boom extending from 10.0 to 43.0 meters. Complementing this is a 2-section hydraulic telescopic super luffing (SL) jib that extends from 8.3 to 13.2 meters, providing a maximum lifting height of 57.0 meters and a working radius exceeding 43 meters when fully equipped.

Its lifting capability is highlighted by its ability to hoist 60,000 kg at a 3.0-meter radius with the boom at 10.0 meters, and it still handles 7,500 kg at an 11-meter radius with the boom extended to 43.0 meters. With the SL jib, it can lift up to 3,500 kg (8.3 m) or 2,500 kg (13.2 m) depending on jib angle and radius, supported by a 5-ton rooster sheave for additional flexibility. The boom’s operating range covers 0° to 84°, with full elevation achieved in 66 seconds and telescoping speed of 33 meters in 115 seconds.

Equipped with dual single-line winches driven by axial piston motors and planetary gear reducers, the crane offers a main hoist speed of 160 m/min and auxiliary hoist speed of 150 m/min (single line, on 5th and 4th layers respectively). Hook reeving supports up to 14-part line lifting, with interchangeable hooks rated at 60 tons, 25 tons, and 5 tons.

The crane is powered by a Mitsubishi 6M70-TLE3A engine producing 272 kW at 2,000 rpm and 1,510 Nm of torque, compliant with Japan’s 2006 emission standards. It features selectable 8×4 or 8×6 drive, hydropneumatic suspension on all axles, and a full-auto transmission with 6 forward and 2 reverse gears. Travel speed reaches up to 49 km/h with a tight 6.84-meter turning radius in 8-wheel steering mode.

Safety is prioritized with Kato’s ACS (Automatic Crane System) which includes overload protection, automatic swing stop, soft stop for boom elevation and extension, range limiting, outrigger auto-detection, and anti-drum overwind systems. Additional comforts include a fully air-conditioned cab, winch cameras, LED lighting, AM/FM radio, and a high-visibility operator interface.

Compact in design but massive in capability, the KR-70H-LM is ideal for infrastructure projects, industrial lifting, and demanding terrains where its mobility, height, and reach can be fully utilized.
