he Kobelco RK250-6 (Panther 250) is a versatile 25-ton rough terrain crane with a maximum rated capacity of 25,000 kg at a 3.5 m radius. Its four-section box-type main boom can extend from 9.32 m to 30.62 m, with a maximum boom lifting height of 31.9 m. The optional jib adds further flexibility with two lengths available: 7.5 m and 12.0 m, giving a maximum jib tip height of 43.6 m.

Outrigger deployment includes both H-type and X-type hydraulic extension systems, with a maximum outrigger spread of 6.3 m. The winches offer high lifting speeds—up to 125 m/min for the main winch (4th layer) and 108 m/min for the auxiliary winch (2nd layer), ensuring efficient lifting cycles. Swing speed is rated at 2.81 rpm, and boom hoisting and extension are hydraulically powered for smooth and safe operation.

The crane is powered by a Mitsubishi 6M60-TLE2A diesel engine, delivering 200 kW (272 PS) at 2,700 rpm and 785 Nm of torque. It features a 4×4 or 4×2 selectable drive system and reaches a maximum travel speed of 49 km/h. The transmission is a fully automatic/manual combination with 3 forward and 1 reverse gear, plus High/Low range.

Hydro-pneumatic suspension supports the crane’s full-floating axles, and steering options include front (normal), rear, 4-wheel coordinated, clamp, and crab steering. The minimum turning radius is 5.0 m (4WS), while the vehicle’s dimensions measure 10,990 mm in length, 2,620 mm width, and 3,475 mm height. It has a total weight of 26,495 kg, with even axle loading for optimal stability.

Safety is well considered, with standard features like automatic moment limiter, over-winding prevention, automatic slew stop, and multi-display monitor with rear and drum-view cameras. Additionally, the Panther 250 includes redundant braking systems, including full disc brakes, engine exhaust brakes, and retarder options.

The RK250-6 is also available with optional features such as a sky tilt jib (hydraulic angle adjustment), third drum for auxiliary winch, and various cold-weather or job-specific accessories. This crane is ideal for urban lifting work where agility, reach, and speed are critical.
