Product Description

The Kobelco RK500-2 is a versatile 51-ton rough terrain crane that delivers a solid balance of lifting power and operational efficiency. Its four-section hydraulically telescoping boom ranges from 10.0 to 33.5 meters and is constructed using high tensile steel with a hexagonal box design. The boom extension is controlled by a synchronized two-stage hydraulic cylinder system, allowing for smooth and precise operation in tight job site conditions. For extended reach, the crane includes a 13.0-meter offsettable jib, which allows for a maximum lifting height of 48.5 meters and a working radius of up to 40.0 meters.

Powering the RK500-2 is a Hino H07C-TI diesel engine, a turbocharged 6-cylinder inline water-cooled unit delivering 158 kW (215 PS) at 2,500 rpm and a torque of 637 Nm at 1,600 rpm. It features a 4-speed transmission with a torque converter, driving through a 4×4 wheel configuration with both axles steerable. This results in a minimum turning radius of just 4.8 meters, enhancing the crane’s maneuverability in restricted workspaces.

The crane includes two independent winches (main and auxiliary), each powered by a hydraulic motor and planetary gear reducer, offering line speeds of up to 100 m/min. The slewing system supports 360° continuous rotation at 2.5 rpm via a hydraulic motor and planetary reduction system. For ground stability, the RK500-2 uses H-type outriggers with variable extension settings, ensuring safe lifting operations even on uneven terrain.

The operator’s cab is ergonomically designed with wide visibility, and includes air conditioning, a multi-display monitoring system, and a suspension seat for improved comfort. Safety systems include an automatic moment limiter, overload warning, boom angle detectors, and various hydraulic safety valves to prevent overextension or tipping.

Compact, agile, and equipped with a full suite of safety and operational features, the Kobelco RK500-2 is built for consistent performance in diverse lifting environments, from urban infrastructure to industrial sites.
