Product Description
The Link-Belt HSP-8050 is a robust 50 US-ton rough terrain crane designed for heavy-duty lifting in challenging environments. Its four-section boom extends from 35 ft to 110 ft (10.67 m to 33.5 m) using a fully synchronized telescoping system, providing smooth extension and reliable performance. The boom construction is enhanced with diamond-shaped impressions for additional strength while reducing weight. This crane also offers a maximum tip height of 150 ft (45.7 m) when equipped with an optional 33 ft to 56 ft (10.1 m to 17.1 m) bi-fold swingaway jib, which can be offset at 5°, 15°, or 30° for greater flexibility in lifting operations.
The HSP-8050 is powered by a Cummins 6CT 8.3 diesel engine, producing 215 hp (160 kW) at 2,500 RPM and 567 ft-lbs (769 Nm) of torque at 1,500 RPM, providing the necessary power for both crane functions and travel. The crane includes a 3-speed, 2-range powershift transmission, offering six forward and two reverse gears. It is capable of reaching a top speed of 21 mph (33.8 km/h), making it efficient for transport between job sites. The 4×4 drive system and multiple steering modes—front-wheel, four-wheel coordinated, and crab steering—enhance maneuverability on rough or uneven terrain.
The hydraulic system features a triple gear-type pump with a combined capacity of 161 GPM (609.4 LPM) at 2,700 psi (18.6 MPa), powering the boom lift, telescoping, swing, and hoisting functions. The crane’s swing system uses a bi-directional hydraulic motor driving a planetary reducer, allowing for 360° continuous rotation with smooth and controlled movement at a speed of 2.45 rpm. The crane’s hydraulic reservoir holds 140 gallons (530 liters), ensuring adequate fluid supply for sustained operations.
The crane is equipped with powerful winches that provide a maximum line pull of 15,870 lbs (7,199 kg) and a line speed of 548 ft/min (167.03 m/min) on 17-inch (43.3 cm) diameter drums. These winches are designed for high-efficiency lifting and are controlled via foot pedals within the operator’s cab for easy operation.
For stability during lifting, the HSP-8050 is equipped with four hydraulic outriggers that extend to a maximum span of 22 ft (6.71 m) for a wide, stable lifting base. Each outrigger is controlled independently, and the crane also includes sight-level bubbles for accurate leveling on uneven terrain.
The operator’s cab is designed with comfort and control in mind, featuring a fully enclosed, sound-suppressed cab with tinted, tempered safety glass. The seat is six-way adjustable, and all crane functions, including boom, swing, and winches, are controlled via joysticks mounted on the armrests. The cab instrumentation includes gauges for hydraulic oil temperature, engine oil pressure, and other critical systems, ensuring the operator can monitor performance in real time.
Additional equipment includes advanced safety systems like the Load Moment Indicator (LMI), which provides audio-visual warnings and automatic function disconnects to prevent overloading and unsafe operations. The crane also comes with two-speed motors, a spring-applied swing brake, and dual-control levers for enhanced functionality.
Overall, the Link-Belt HSP-8050 is a powerful and versatile rough terrain crane that excels in rugged environments, making it ideal for construction, industrial, and utility applications requiring heavy lifting and maneuverability.
