The SANY SRC550 is a versatile and high-performing rough terrain crane with a lifting capacity of 55 tonnes, designed for reliable operation in rugged environments such as construction, oilfields, and heavy industrial projects. Displayed at the Myanmar 2nd International Building, Construction & Infrastructure Exhibition on 30 October 2014, the SRC550 showcases SANY’s strength in mobile crane design and robust build quality.

The crane features a 4-section full-power telescopic boom constructed in a hexagonal cross-section, providing optimal strength and rigidity. The boom extends from 11.25 m to 34.5 m, and with the jib extension, the crane achieves a maximum lifting height of 52.5 m. The base boom alone offers 35.8 m of vertical reach, supporting lifting operations for mid-rise buildings and equipment handling.

The hoisting mechanism includes hydraulic winches with bent-axis piston motors, providing 2-speed operation with equal power in both directions. The main and auxiliary winches deliver speeds up to 150 m/min (no load), allowing for quick load handling. The 19 mm diameter rope supports a range of hook configurations for different rigging needs.

Under the hood, the SRC550 is powered by a Cummins QSB6.7 Tier 3 diesel engine, delivering 186 kW at 2,500 rpm, and maximum torque of 987 Nm at 1,500 rpm. This powertrain ensures reliable performance under heavy loads and rough jobsite conditions. Fuel efficiency is optimized with a consumption rate of 60 L per 100 km.

Travel and maneuverability are strengths of the SRC550, thanks to its four-wheel drive and steer system. It has a maximum speed of 40 km/h, with a turning radius of 6.7 m (4-wheel steering) and 12.3 m (2-wheel steering). This makes the crane well-suited for tight or confined construction sites. The minimum ground clearance is 350 mm, and the machine has a departure angle of 20°, along with a gradeability of 75%, giving it impressive off-road performance.

For lifting precision and safety, the hydraulic system consists of two gear-type pumps with a combined system capacity of 443 L/min, controlled with load feedback and pressure-compensated flow valves. It features a 620 L hydraulic oil tank, external oil level gauge, and an integrated oil cooling system.

The cab is equipped with an adjustable deluxe seat, air-conditioning, and a hydraulic joystick control system, promoting comfort and operator efficiency during extended operations.
