Product Description
The Sunward SWRT55 is the largest model in Sunward’s rough terrain crane lineup, delivering robust lifting performance and high operational efficiency. With a maximum rated lifting capacity of 55 metric tons and a lifting moment of 1,865 kN·m, it is engineered for demanding job sites that require both reach and power.
This crane is built on a durable platform measuring 13,650 mm in length, 3,300 mm in width, and 3,750 mm in height. It features a 4,000 mm wheelbase and a 2,605 mm wheelspan, ensuring stability even under heavy loads. The maximum outrigger span is 7,200 mm horizontally and 7,000 mm vertically, providing a secure and steady base during operations.
The SWRT55 is equipped with a five-section boom that telescopes from 11.3 meters up to a full 42.55 meters. This allows for a wide range of lifting operations across various heights and radii. An additional 16-meter jib further extends its operational flexibility, with boom elevation angles ranging from -3.5° to 78°. At its peak, the crane achieves a lifting height of 59.1 meters with the longest jib.
Under the hood, the crane is powered by a Weichai WP10.336 engine, delivering 213 kW of rated power at 2,200 rpm and a torque output of 1,200 N·m between 1,600–1,800 rpm. It complies with China National III emission standards, offering a balance of power and environmental compliance. The curb weight of the crane is 44,600 kg, with a front axle carrying capacity of 22,000 kg and rear axle capacity of 22,600 kg.
Travel performance includes a maximum speed of 40 km/h and a maximum gradeability of 70%, enabling the SWRT55 to traverse steep and rough terrain effectively. It also features a minimum ground clearance of 450 mm and turning radii of 12.8 m (2-wheel) and 7.8 m (4-wheel), enhancing maneuverability in tight areas.
The crane boasts a slew speed of less than 2.6 rpm and fast operational speeds, including a main winch line speed of 130 m/min. The boom extends and retracts in about 70/140 seconds and lifts or lowers in 54/54 seconds respectively. Fuel consumption is rated at approximately 68 L per 100 km.
In terms of lift geometry, the base boom starts at a height of 12.5 meters, increasing up to 42.55 meters with full extension. The working envelope allows for precise and efficient handling of large, heavy components, making the SWRT55 suitable for energy infrastructure, industrial construction, and large civil works. Its high lifting capacity, advanced control systems, and rugged build make it a top-tier performer in the rough terrain crane category.
