Product Description
The Tadano GR-160N-2 is a versatile, high-performance 16-ton rough terrain crane designed for work in space-constrained environments such as residential areas, city centers, and industrial complexes. Its rounded 4-section boom extends hydraulically from 6.4 to 27.5 meters, providing stable lifting performance throughout the entire range. A 4.5-meter manual jib, with offset angles of 5°, 25°, and 45°, extends the maximum lifting height to 32.1 meters.
Rated for a 16,000 kg maximum capacity at a 2.5-meter radius with 5-part line reeving, the GR-160N-2 maintains strong capacity even at longer reaches—handling up to 1,000 kg at a 20-meter radius on full boom extension. The crane’s hook and block options are optimized for mid-sized lifting, with reeving configurations suitable for single-part or multi-line lifting scenarios.
The crane is powered by a Mitsubishi 6M60-TLE2A diesel engine, delivering 200 kW (272 PS) at 2,700 rpm and 785 Nm of torque. With a 4-speed automatic transmission and selectable 2WD/4WD drive modes, the GR-160N-2 reaches travel speeds of up to 49 km/h and features a minimum turning radius of just 4.6 meters thanks to its 4-wheel steer capability. This makes it agile and highly responsive on job sites with tight access.
Its hydraulic system consists of three gear-type pumps feeding the boom, winch, swing, and outrigger operations, supported by a 456-liter hydraulic tank. The slewing mechanism operates at 2.5 rpm and is driven by a planetary reducer with integrated braking for smooth and controlled rotation.
Outriggers are of the X-type, hydraulically operated, and support multi-position setup with a full extension width of 5.5 meters, allowing for stable operation even in uneven terrain. The AML (Automatic Moment Limiter) system provides real-time load monitoring, alerting operators to potential overloading while automatically regulating performance to ensure safe operation.
The crane cab is ergonomically designed for comfort and visibility, equipped with wide-view glass, intuitive control panels, and amenities including air conditioning, rear camera, and safety interlocks.
Ideal for mid-range lifting tasks, the Tadano GR-160N-2 delivers strong performance, safety, and compact transportability—making it a go-to crane for urban infrastructure, utility work, and light construction projects.
