Product Description
The Sunward SWTC5D telescopic crawler crane, developed by Sunward Intelligent Equipment, represents a focused design solution for lifting operations where space and mobility are restricted. With a maximum rated lifting capacity of 5 tonnes and a compact body dimension of 5350 mm in length, 2260 mm in width, and 2835 mm in height, this crane is particularly well-suited for urban construction, utility maintenance, and indoor projects.
The crane’s main boom comprises five telescopic sections made of high-strength, lightweight hexagonal steel, extending from a base length of 4.63 meters to a maximum of 15.63 meters. This telescopic arrangement allows a lifting height of up to 16.5 meters with the full boom extended. The crane achieves a maximum load moment of 10.5 t.m with the basic boom and 15.3 t.m with the boom fully extended. Boom luffing and telescopic operations are quick and efficient, with up/down times of 11/9 seconds and extension/retraction times of 17/20 seconds respectively. Slewing is managed by a compact motor mounted in the tail, offering a swing speed of 4.5 rpm.
The SWTC5D’s undercarriage features crawler tracks that ensure high stability on uneven terrain and allow for a traveling speed of 2.5 km/h and a micro-traveling mode at 0.05 km/h, ideal for precise maneuvering. Ground pressure is a minimal 0.045 MPa, enhancing its usability on soft ground. Its maximum gradeability is rated at 36.4%, enabling it to climb moderate inclines while maintaining balance.
Powered by a Yanmar 4TNV98C-SSU diesel engine, the SWTC5D produces 46.2 kW at 2200 rpm. The engine meets stringent Euro V emissions standards and features water cooling and turbocharging, delivering consistent power and environmentally responsible operation. The crane includes a 125-liter fuel tank, offering sufficient autonomy for extended operation shifts.
Operational safety is emphasized through an integrated Hirschmann force limiter system, CAN bus-based control interface, and compliance with EN13000 crane safety standards. An array of electronic limiters safeguard against unsafe actions such as overwinding, excessive boom angle, and overextension. Optional interlocks for boom swing angle and boarding operations further enhance jobsite safety. Additionally, the unit includes a self-lifting blade shovel for added platform stability and comes equipped with a micro-traveling switch to enable precision positioning of the crane’s boom and hook.
Designed for agility, the SWTC5D’s short tail swing and compact slewing system make it particularly effective in tight spaces, while its robust lifting capacity and quick operating cycles enhance jobsite productivity. The lifting capacity chart (on page 2 of the brochure) further outlines its performance across multiple boom lengths and working radii, reaffirming its versatility across lifting scenarios.
This crane debuted as a solution for modern lifting tasks that demand compact dimensions, intelligent control, and dependable power – embodying Sunward’s philosophy of integrating precision engineering with practical utility.
